F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming celebrated with 57 military-connected graduating seniors at its 2026 Purple Cord Ceremony on May 12th. Special recognition goes to East High School Air Force JROTC and the Central High School Centralaires for making this event a huge success! Hats off to the resilient military-connected grads.

The Compact exists to facilitate on-time graduation for the children of uniformed service members, and the Commission is proud to celebrate the achievements of uniform-connected students. If your school or district hosts special recognitions for graduating uniform-connected students, such as Purple Cord ceremonies, we invite you to share photos with the National Office by email or tag the Commission on social media including the hashtag and . Compact Rule, SEC. 4.103 Transfers During Senior Year

(a) Transfers during senior year – There may be cases in which a military student transferring at the beginning or during his or her senior year is ineligible to graduate from the receiving LEA after all alternatives have been considered. In such cases the sending and receiving LEA’s shall ensure the receipt of a diploma from the sending LEA, if the student meets the graduation requirements of the sending LEA. In the event that one of the States in question is not a member of this compact, the member State shall use best efforts to facilitate the on-time graduation of the student in accordance with Sections A and B of this Article.

On April 15, Chief Joseph Elementary School in Great Falls, Montana celebrated Purple Up! Day with a special ceremony attended by soldiers from nearby Malmstrom Air Force Base. Chief Joseph Elementary was also recognized as a Montana Purple Star School.
