Now that the rain has finally moved out, we can safely show off a few photos from our 3rd Platoon Technical Rescue Team.

The wet weather didn’t stop these firefighters from getting valuable training time in last week. Whether it’s sunshine, storms, or anything in between, our crews are committed to sharpening their skills and staying ready for whatever challenges come their way.

Training together strengthens our response together. Recently, members of our Hazardous Materials and Technical Rescue Teams trained side-by-side during confined-space operations and air-monitoring scenarios.

This type of joint training helps build coordination, communication, and situational awareness, enabling crews to operate safely and effectively during complex emergencies.

Freedom has never been free. Today, we remember the men and women who gave everything in service to our country and honor the sacrifice made by so many families.

As we spend time with loved ones this Memorial Day, take a moment to reflect on those who paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Lexington firefighters. Crews have responded to multiple structure fires, hazardous materials scenes, and vehicle-into-structure incidents across our community.

Stay safe, stay alert, and remember to slow down and drive responsibly this weekend.

During National EMS Week, we proudly recognize the dedicated members of the Lexington Fire Department who answered more than 50,000 emergency medical service calls last year.

Behind every response is a team of highly trained professionals providing emergency medical care, compassion, reassurance, and support during some of life’s most difficult moments. Whether responding to critical emergencies, accidents, illnesses, or calls for assistance, our department is committed to serving this community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Thank you to all LFD EMS providers for your professionalism, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to the residents and visitors of Lexington.

As summer approaches and more people head to the water, the Lexington Fire Department reminds everyone to make water safety a priority.

Always wear a properly fitted life vest when boating or participating in water activities, and never swim alone. Always swim with a buddy. Keep a close watch on children near the water, know your limits, and stay aware of changing conditions.

This week, members of our rescue teams were out training on dive rescue operations to sharpen the specialized skills needed during water emergencies. This training helps crews practice search techniques, communication, and water safety procedures so they remain prepared to respond.

Congratulations to Recruit Class 75 on their graduation! After months of hard work, dedication, and countless hours of training, these new firefighters are officially joining the ranks of the Lexington Fire Department. We couldn’t be more proud of the progress they’ve made and the commitment they’ve shown to serving our community.

You’ll see many familiar faces in our graduation video- but please note that not every recruit was able to be filmed. Even so, every member of Class 75 played a vital role in this journey, and we celebrate each of them today.

Join us in welcoming Recruit Class 75 as they step into the next chapter of their careers. Great job, and welcome to the family!
