🚨🔥 Incident Post 🔥🚨

At approximately 1:45 PM this afternoon, the Silver Valley Fire Department was dispatched to a reported brush fire in the 100 block of Carroll Street. Upon arrival, crews found a rapidly spreading fire involving a residence, two outbuildings, roughly a quarter acre of wooded area.

Due to the extent of the incident, the call was immediately upgraded to a structure fire. Firefighters quickly initiated fire attack and search operations. Crews were able to rapidly bring the residential structure under control before continuing suppression efforts on the remaining buildings and surrounding woods fire.

All crews have since cleared the scene

🚨🔥 Incident Post 🔥🚨

This evening, crews were dispatched to a reported outside fire off Old Highway 109. Upon arrival, personnel discovered a large illegal burn (roughly 30ft X 30ft) that was threatening multiple nearby structures. Firefighters quickly initiated suppression operations and worked to bring the fire under control while protecting surrounding buildings.

⚠️ UPDATE ⚠️- At approximately 8:28 PM this evening, units were dispatched to a reported structure fire at Food Lion. Crews arrived to find what appeared to be smoke coming from the rear of the building. After further investigation, it was determined that the haze was caused by a gas release from a compression system inside the structure.

Crews quickly mitigated the issue and turned the scene over to Food Lion management and the general contractor. All fire personnel have since cleared the scene.

🚨 Incident Post 🚨
Early this morning, the Silver Valley Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, crews confirmed an active fire, Silver Valley Engine 91 arrived and immediately initiated fire attack, primary search, and ventilation operations. Due to the quick actions and teamwork of all responding agencies, the fire was successfully contained and brought under control.

Don’t let lint become a fire hazard in your home. Clean your dryer lint trap after every load and help keep your family safe.

Lint happens. Fires don’t have to. Lint buildup can lead to a dryer fire if it’s not cleaned regularly.

• Clean the lint filter before or after each load.
• Make sure the outdoor vent flap opens when the dryer is running.
• Have a qualified service person clean the inside of the dryer cabinet and exhaust duct once a year.

Units are currently operating at Food Lion following a reported structure fire. At this time, no fire conditions have been located; however, crews have identified an electrical issue within the building.

Food Lion is currently closed until further notice.

Yesterday afternoon, multiple members of our department completed training on 🔥 fireground scenarios, 🪜 ladder operations, and 📋 incident command.

Our Fire Department training meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of every month, and we are always open to new members! 🚒
