We are proud to recognize a true Fire Safety Hero! 🔥👏

The Fire Marshal’s Office recently presented an award to Da’Nyla Archie at Charles England Elementary School for following our fire safety rules.

Da’Nyla found a lighter on the playground and made the safe choice—she did NOT touch it. Instead, she immediately notified a teacher so it could be safely secured.

This is a perfect example of how fire safety education makes a real difference. Because of her quick thinking and smart decision, a potentially dangerous situation was handled safely.

Great job, Da’Nyla! We are incredibly proud of you for helping keep your school and classmates safe. 💙🚒

The American Heart Association recognized Firefighter Jacob Beauchamp, Captain Danny Lambeth, Sergeant Colton Hedrick, and Firefighter Neftali Hernandez with the Heartsaver Hero Award after their response to a call where they performed CPR and administered AED shocks to a pulseless patient. Thank you to all four of you for your professional care during this stressful event!

❄️⚠️ Winter Storm Safety Reminder for This Weekend ⚠️❄️

With a winter storm expected this weekend, now is the time to prepare. Make sure your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are working, use space heaters safely, and never use generators or grills inside your home.

If the power goes out, use flashlights instead of candles and keep anything that can burn at least 3 feet away from heaters. A little preparation now can help prevent fires during the storm.

Stay warm, stay safe, Lexington! 🚒🏠
