Lewisville,

Storms can create rapidly changing and hazardous conditions across our community. Public safety is a shared responsibility. Stay informed by following official weather alerts and local emergency guidance.

Identify safe shelter locations in advance and be ready to act quickly if warnings are issued. Avoid flooded roadways, downed power lines, and damaged areas, and report hazards to local authorities when it is safe to do so.

First responders are prepared, and your awareness and cooperation help keep everyone safe during severe weather.

REMINDER - Statewide Emergency Alert Test – April 2

Texas will conduct a statewide test of emergency alert systems TODAY, April 2, between 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

You may receive a test alert on your phone and/or hear outdoor warning sirens depending on the systems used by your local jurisdiction and/or the jurisdiction you are in at the time of the test.

Because multiple jurisdictions may participate, you could receive more than one test alert during the testing window.

This is only a test. No emergency action is required.

Testing helps ensure emergency alerts work when they are needed most.

UPDATE: The City of Lewisville has canceled the 1 p.m. Outdoor Warning Siren test scheduled for April 1 due to cloudy conditions and the potential for storms later this evening or tonight.

The Texas Division of Emergency Management will conduct a statewide emergency alert test on April 2 between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The City of Lewisville will participate in this test.

Residents subscribed to Lewisville Citizen Alert through Everbridge will receive a test notification via phone, text, or email during the alert window on April 2. Because this is a statewide test, some individuals may receive multiple alerts depending on their location and the number of alert systems they are enrolled in.

The City of Lewisville outdoor warning sirens will not sound on April 2. To avoid confusion, the City will conduct its regular monthly siren test the day before, on April 1 at 1 p.m., weather permitting.
