The Lewisville Police Department is investigating a homicide.

On September 11, 2026, at approximately 10:40 p.m., Lewisville Police officers responded to the 200 block of E Corporate Dr after a report of a person shot.

Officers arrived and found an adult Hispanic male outside an apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. Lewisville Fire Department personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Lewisville Police immediately began investigating and canvassing the area for witnesses and evidence. Detectives are still working to determine what transpired, but at this time, investigators do not believe this was a random incident.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will release the victim's identity.

Twenty-five years later, we honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders who courageously answered the call, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

We remember the firefighters, law enforcement officers, paramedics, dispatchers, military members, and everyday citizens who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

Their bravery, sacrifice, and service will never be forgotten.

Tomorrow, We Remember

Tomorrow, we will gather as a community to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice that day.

The Lewisville Police Department and Lewisville Fire Department invite you to join us for the 25th Anniversary 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony.

Date: Friday, Sept. 11
Time: 8:45 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Location: Tittle McFadden Public Safety Center, 1187 W. Main St.

This ceremony is an opportunity for our community to come together, remember the thousands of lives lost, and honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call.

Twenty-five years ago, our nation changed forever.
On September 11, 2001, 343 FDNY firefighters, alongside law enforcement officers, paramedics, and everyday citizens, ran toward danger without hesitation. They climbed stairwells knowing the risks, driven solely by the call to serve and save others.
Nearly a quarter of a century has passed, but the gravity of that morning does not fade with time. For the fire service, "Never Forget" isn't just a phrase repeated once a year—it is a sacred promise. We carry their courage, their sacrifice, and the lessons of that day with us on every single shift.
Members of the Lewisville Fire and Police Department stand in solemn remembrance of the 2,977 innocent lives lost at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. We honor the families who still carry the weight of an empty chair at the dinner table, and we continue to hold in our prayers the first responders who are still battling 9/11-related illnesses today.
May we always honor their legacy not just in our words, but in how we serve, protect, and care for one another every day.
Lewisville will never forget.

The Calm Behind the Call

When someone is experiencing one of the most stressful or frightening moments of their life, our dispatchers are there ready to listen, provide direction, and calmly get help where it needs to go.

Just in August 2026, our Emergency Communications Center handled 14,659 calls:
- 4,876 emergency calls
- 9,783 non-emergency calls

That’s thousands of conversations requiring patience, compassion, quick thinking, and a calm voice on the other end of the line.

Our dispatchers may not always be seen, but the work they do every day is incredibly important to our officers, firefighters, and community.

If you know a dispatcher, take a moment to thank them for being the calm voice during someone else’s moment of panic.

To our dispatchers: thank you for everything you do!

TRAFFIC ALERT: TXDOT LANE CLOSURES

Texas Department of Transportation has scheduled the following daytime lane closures for Wednesday, Sept. 9, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

The I-35E Southbound Frontage Road at Business 121 will have a left lane closed to set low profile traffic barriers.

The I-35E Northbound Frontage Road between Lakepointe Dr and Bennett Ln will have a right lane closed to pour Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP).

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time and avoid the area if possible.

SHOOTING INVESTIGATION UPDATE – ARREST MADE

Lewisville Police have made an arrest following a shooting Sunday evening that left two people injured.

On September 6, 2026, at approximately 6:49 p.m., Lewisville Police officers responded to a local restaurant, located in the 1200 block of S. SH 121 Business, regarding a report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they located two adult shooting victims inside a nearby business, where they had taken refuge following the shooting. Both adult male victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment and are expected to survive.

Investigators determined the shooting occurred in the parking lot behind the restaurant. Video obtained during the investigation showed an altercation occurred between members of two separate groups. During the altercation, the suspect identified as Leonel Consuelos Rocha Jr., allegedly displayed a handgun and shot two people in the opposing group.

Following the shooting, the suspects fled the area.

Officers were able to utilize Flock, which is an automatic license plate reader, to identify the suspect vehicle.

Through video evidence, investigative resources, and interviews conducted at the scene and hospital, detectives identified Rocha as the alleged shooter.

Later that evening, Rocha surrendered to LPD and was taken into custody without incident.

Rocha was booked into the Lewisville City Jail.
Rocha is charged with:

• Three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – two counts are related to the victims who were shot and one count is related to a third victim who allegedly had a handgun pointed at them but was not shot.
• Tampering with Evidence related to the alleged disposal of the handgun used in the offense.

We want to take a moment to recognize our Lewisville PD Detectives, Covert Operations, and Patrol officers who worked long hours last night to investigate an incident and make an arrest.

Cases don’t always happen during regular business hours, and sometimes the work continues late into the night. From our patrol officers responding and gathering information to our detectives following leads and putting the pieces together, it took teamwork, dedication, and a lot of hard work to bring this case to a successful arrest.
