Today was LEF Grant Day!!!😍🎉 A total of $3,825 went to three of our very own staff members to go towards projects in their classrooms!!🤩 We are so thankful for the way that the Lewisville Education Foundation supports teachers in our district.

Did you know ANYONE can donate to help fund teacher grants, graduate degree scholarships, and more?! You can go to the LEF website at https://lisdef.com/ and select to donate to a particular fund or make a general donation - every dollar counts!!

¡¡¡Hoy fue el día de la entrega de subvenciones de la LEF!!! 😍🎉 ¡¡Un total de $3,825 se destinó a tres miembros de nuestro personal para financiar proyectos en sus aulas!! 🤩 Estamos muy agradecidos por la forma en que la Lewisville Education Foundation (LEF) apoya a los maestros de nuestro distrito.

Our 3rd-grade scientists had the opportunity to learn by doing science. Working in teams and taking turns, they explored various objects to identify and measure their physical properties, such as temperature, mass/weight, length, and magnetism, and to determine whether they would float or sink.

In addition to reinforcing concepts learned in class, they were able to experience them firsthand and have fun while discovering the properties of matter!!

Nuestros científicos de 3er grado tuvieron la oportunidad de aprender haciendo ciencia. Trabajaron en equipos y, tomando turnos, exploraron diferentes objetos para identificar y medir sus propiedades físicas, como la temperatura, masa/peso, longitud, magnetismo y si podían flotar o hundirse.

Además de reforzar los conceptos que hemos aprendido en clase, pudieron experimentarlos de primera mano y divertirse mientras descubrían las propiedades de la materia.

It was the sweetest morning having breakfast with our grandparents today!! We had such a big turnout and are so thankful to all of the PTA volunteers who helped bring it all together👏🏼 we also want to give a huge shout out to Human Bean for donating coffee, and Heavenly Donuts for providing the donuts and the donut hole donation!! Events like this wouldn’t be possible without our “village” working together, so if you would like to be a part of making magical memories like this for our kids, volunteer with PTA!!🩵💚

MEMBER = Your membership supports our school financially as well as helps us earn state awards. It also makes you eligible for PTA perks/discounts. It does not mean that you're locked into being an officer or volunteer. You can get your membership at www.joinpta.org.

VOLUNTEER = You do not need to be a member to volunteer, but you do need to be registered with VOLY. Volunteers are necessary to make all the fun events and opportunities at Parkway possible. If you're interested in volunteering with Parkway (even just a little bit), please email [email protected].

¡Qué mañana tan encantadora pasamos hoy desayunando con nuestros abuelos! Tuvimos una gran asistencia y estamos muy agradecidos con todos los voluntarios de la PTA que ayudaron a organizar todo esto 👏🏼. También queremos dar un agradecimiento especial a Human Bean por donar el café, y a Heavenly Donuts por proporcionar las donas y donar también los bocaditos de dona (donut holes). Eventos como este no serían posibles sin nuestra "comunidad" trabajando unida; así que, si quieres ayudar a crear recuerdos mágicos como este para nuestros niños, ¡hazte voluntario de la PTA! 🩵💚

📚✨ Happy National Read a Book Day, Parkway! ✨📚

Today, we’re celebrating something we hope our Panthers never stop loving: reading! ❤️ There’s nothing quite like seeing our students get lost in a good book, discover something new, or find a story that makes them laugh, wonder, and think. 📖💙

And while we’re celebrating reading at school today, we want to remind our families that reading at home matters, too! Even just a few minutes of reading each day helps children build vocabulary, strengthen comprehension, develop background knowledge, and grow into confident readers—and strong literacy skills support success across all areas of learning. 🌟

So tonight, find a cozy spot, pick a favorite book, and spend a little time reading together! 🛋️📚 Whether your child reads independently, reads to you, or you read aloud together, every page counts.

Hoy celebramos algo que esperamos que nuestros Panthers nunca dejen de amar: ¡la lectura! ❤️ No hay nada como ver a nuestros estudiantes sumergirse en un buen libro, descubrir algo nuevo o encontrar una historia que los haga reír, maravillarse y reflexionar. 📖💙

Y aunque hoy celebramos la lectura en la escuela, ¡queremos recordarles a nuestras familias que leer en casa también es importante! Incluso unos pocos minutos de lectura diaria ayudan a los niños a ampliar su vocabulario, fortalecer la comprensión, desarrollar conocimientos previos y convertirse en lectores seguros de sí mismos; además, unas sólidas habilidades de lectoescritura favorecen el éxito en todas las áreas del aprendizaje. 🌟

Friday Night Lights are back and some of our Panthers got to join in on the fun!! Some 5th graders from LHS feeder schools were invited to participate in the Friday Night Farmers 5th grade Fun Run!! They got to run the field and then met the football players, cheerleaders, the band, Farmerettes, and the Rowdy Crowd!! What a fun and special night!! Go Fighting Farmers!!❤️🏈

Our 4th graders got to dive into what always turns out to be a favorite investigation of the year - the Density Tower!🥤🔬 Students put their knowledge of physical properties and density to the test as they investigated how different liquids and solids interact and why some settle above or below others.

There may have been a little predicting, a little experimenting, and a LOT of excitement when those layers start to form!👀🧪

We love watching our Panthers turn scientific concepts into hands-on discoveries!💙🐾

Nuestros alumnos de cuarto grado se sumergieron en lo que siempre resulta ser una de las investigaciones favoritas del año: ¡la Torre de Densidad! 🥤🔬 Los estudiantes pusieron a prueba sus conocimientos sobre las propiedades físicas y la densidad al investigar cómo interactúan diferentes líquidos y sólidos, y por qué algunos se sitúan por encima o por debajo de otros.

¡Hubo predicciones, experimentos y muchísima emoción al ver cómo empezaban a formarse esas capas! 👀🧪

¡Nos encanta ver a nuestros "Panthers" convertir conceptos científicos en descubrimientos prácticos! 💙🐾
