City of Lewisville Animal Services provides the animal shelter and ordinance enforcement for residents and animals in Lewisville. While the shelter is closed to the public on Mondays, we are available by appointment. Interested in adopting a pet or reclaiming your lost pet on a Monday? Just give us a call to make an appointment!

Lewisville Animal Services is temporarily adjusting shelter hours and pausing non-urgent owner surrenders while the department works through several staff vacancies.

Effective Friday, Sept. 11, the shelter will open at noon, Tuesday through Friday, instead of 10 a.m., giving staff additional time each morning for feeding, cleaning, and medical care. The department is also pausing new non-urgent surrender appointments through October, though urgent situations will continue to be evaluated individually and previously scheduled appointments will be honored.

Emergency and public safety calls remain the department's top priority throughout this transition. Animal Services is actively recruiting to fill open positions and will restore normal hours and intake as staffing improves.

Our shelter kittens are growing, healing, and getting ready to find their forever homes and they have a very important request… WE NEED WET KITTEN FOOD!

We are extremely low on Purina Fancy Feast Kitten canned food (like the food pictured below), and our little ones are counting on our amazing community to help keep their bellies full! 🐾💕

Canned kitten food provides these growing babies with the extra nutrition they need to stay happy, healthy, and strong while they wait for their forever families. ❤️

Say hello to Stella & Bingo! 🐾

These two beautiful girls came into our care together after they were sadly tied up and left outside a local business. 💔

Both girls are about 2 years old and are ready to start the next chapter of their lives with a family who will love them forever!

Stella is a beautiful Border Collie and is heartworm positive, but please don’t let that deter you! We will take care of her heartworm treatment for her, so her new family can focus on giving her all the love and spoiling she deserves.

And the best part?! 🎉 Adoptions are only $30 through Saturday! Then, on Saturday, August 29th, ALL adoption fees are WAIVED! 🙌🐶
