🌸 LCLC Woman of the Day: Janice Washington Dooley 🌸

A lifelong educator. A nurturer of minds. A woman who teaches with purpose.

Janice Washington Dooley, a resident of Longview, Texas and formerly of Lewisville, is a woman whose life has been devoted to shaping young lives and strengthening communities through education and service.

Born in Lewisville to Imond and Joyce Washington, Janice was raised in a community that helped lay the foundation for her passion and purpose. A proud member of the Class of 1983, she continued her education at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, where her journey into child development began to take shape.

Earning her Child Development Associate credential, Janice dedicated 28 years to working with Head Start children as a teacher and teacher assistant. Her impact during those years helped build strong educational foundations for countless young learners.

After relocating to Longview, Texas, she continued to walk in her calling at East Texas Montessori Prep Academy, where she now serves as a Science Specialist. In this role, she oversees and influences the learning experience of over 1,100 students—continuing her legacy of excellence in education on a larger scale.

Her commitment extends beyond the classroom. Janice is an active member of St. Paul Church in Longview, where she serves faithfully on various committees, as an usher, and as a Pastor’s Aid advisor—demonstrating her heart for both service and ministry.

Her dedication has not gone unnoticed. She has been recognized with the ACE Award for Achievement, Customer Service, and Excellence—an honor that reflects the standard she carries in all she does.

She lives by the powerful words of Benjamin Franklin:
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn.”

And her personal mantra reminds us all:
“Always learn with a purpose.”

Through every classroom, every child, and every act of service, Janice Washington Dooley continues to leave a legacy that will live on for generations.
