Celebrating the life of Colonel Leon McGoogan

In the Providence of God, he has brought to a close the life of Colonel Leon McGoogan. The mayor and members of the Lewisville City Council feel it is appropriate to express our sympathy to the family of COL McGoogan during the passing of their loved one. Our sincere prayers are with the family.

The city of Lewisville, along with the mayor and city council , recognizes that COL McGoogan , throughout his life, touched ,guided, counseled, and loved everyone within his sphere of influence for more than one hundred and two years , and encourages all citizens to remember his contributions to us, our children ,and our community—helping shape the men and women we are today —as a way to honor his legacy.

NOW ,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT I, Ethan N.Dunbar , Mayor of the City of Lewisville , do hearby proclaim Wednesday, June 10,2026, as a day of city -wide respect for the life of Colonel Leon McGoogan
