TRAINING TODAY, READY TOMORROW!
Today, your Lewisville firefighters were hard at work sharpening their technical rescue skills!
Our crews simulated a high-angle rescue response involving a worker injured on an OSHA-rated ladder. In a real-world scenario, getting a patient down safely from an elevated, awkward position requires precision, teamwork, and absolute mastery of our gear.
How We Did It:
The Rigging: Firefighters utilized specialized rope rescue tools and rigging systems to securely hoist and stabilize the "injured worker."
The Transfer: The patient was carefully moved into a stokes basket and secured.
The Descent: Using the rock-solid platform of Truck 166, crews safely lowered the stokes basket down to the ground.
The Hand-off: Waiting crews quickly transitioned the patient over to our Medic unit for simulated emergency treatment.
From high-angle rope systems to aerial tower operations, we constantly push ourselves to ensure that no matter the emergency, we are ready to answer the call.
Always training to keep you safe, Lewisville!

On Sunday evening at around 7:00pm, Lewisville Fire Department and Texas Parks and Wildlife personnel responded to a drowning near Eagle Point Marina on Lake Lewisville.

Upon arrival, Lewisville FD located an unconscious person that was pulled from the water and attempted resuscitation efforts. CPR was administered on the individual, but he was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

TPWD says two brothers were attempting to dock their boat when the victim fell into the water and was unable to get back into the board or make it to the dock safely. The operator of the boat was able to get the victim back to the shore where CPR was started prior to emergency personnel arriving on scene.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as a 48-year-old man.

Officials say two brothers were attempting to dock their boat near Eagle Point Marina when one of them fell into the water.

Please be careful on the lakes, folks 🙏 Too many of these tragedies!

Today, the members of the Lewisville Fire Department join our community and nation in pausing to observe Memorial Day.
While this weekend is often seen as the unofficial start of summer, we know the true cost of the freedom we enjoy today. Our thoughts are with the families, friends, and brothers and sisters in arms of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. They laid down their lives so that we could live ours in peace and safety.
In the fire service, we understand the weight of the oath to serve, and we hold a deep, eternal respect for those who gave their absolute all on the battlefield. We will never forget their names, their courage, or the families they left behind.
To our Lewisville community, as you enjoy today with your loved ones, please take a moment of silence to remember the fallen.
Honor them today. Remember them tomorrow.

Training doesn’t stop so that we are always ready for the unexpected.
This week, Lewisville firefighters conducted lake drafting operations. In an emergency, every second counts, and being able to secure a water source to our pumps under any circumstance is critical to keeping our city safe.
During the drills, our crews practiced flowing multiple lines simultaneously and pushing our pumps to their full manufacturer specifications.
From the Chief to our newest rookie firefighter, every member of the department walked away from this training with a deeper, hands-on familiarity with our equipment.
We train hard today so we can protect Lewisville tomorrow.

Once Family, Always Family
Today, we had the honor of hosting our annual Lewisville Fire Department Retired Firefighters Luncheon.
They might not be pulling shifts or riding backwards anymore, but make no mistake—these men and women are still the heartbeat of our LFD family.
The afternoon was filled with exactly what you would expect:
Legacy & Lore: Reliving the history that built this department into what it is today.
Heroic Tales: Hearing incredible stories of heroism (though, if we are being completely honest, a few of them seem to get about ten percent more dramatic with each passing year).
The Pranks: Re-telling the legendary station pranks that still have us laughing decades later.
Remembrance: Pausing to honor and remember those who paved the way but are no longer with us.
To our retirees: Thank you for coming back home to see the family. The station is always yours. We hope you wear your new custom LFD Retired hats with the same immense pride we feel having you as our foundation.
Once an LFD firefighter, always an LFD firefighter.

Stronger Families, Stronger Community: Station 6 (B-Shift) Family Day
Today, Lewisville Fire Department Station 6 (B-Shift) opened its doors to a very special group of people—our families.
Being a firefighter means answering the call at a moment's notice, but we could never do what we do without the unwavering support of the loved ones who stand behind us at home. Today was all about them. Families came together at the firehouse to share a meal, exchange laughs, and enjoy some hard-earned, quality bonding time.
Events like this are about more than just a fun afternoon. They are essential for creating a deep network of trust and love right here within the firehouse. By bringing our families into our second home, we strengthen the bonds that keep our department resilient and unified.
Thank you to all the families who joined us today, and to our community for your continued support of Station 6.

Keeping Lewisville Safe: A Shout-Out to Our Fleet Services!
We often see the red trucks and hear the sirens of the Lewisville Fire Department rushing to help, but there is a dedicated team working around the clock to make sure those wheels never stop turning.
A massive thank you to our City Fleet Services Department! These are the hardworking men and women who keep our emergency fleet on the street. Whether it's Hayden working on precision components, or technicians crawling under massive rigs in the heat, their dedication is unmatched.
Why They Are Our Unsung Heroes:
• Whatever it Takes: Dirty, tired, hot, or cold—it doesn’t matter.
• Total Commitment: If a machine is down, they are there until it’s fixed.
• Precision Under Pressure: From engine overhauls to intricate repairs, they handle the complex machines that keep our streets and citizens safe.
• Constant Readiness: Because of their long hours and expertise, our first responders can focus on their jobs, knowing their vehicles are mission-ready.
Next time you see a Lewisville Fire truck or ambulance, remember the grease-stained hands and tireless hours of the Fleet Services team that put it there.
Thank you for your service to Lewisville!
