🚨🚨Pursuit of Wanted Suspect 🚨🚨
This morning, The Fergus County Sheriffs Office, a long with BLM Law Enforcement, Probation & Parole, US Customs & Border Protection Air & Marine Operations Helicopter assisted the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force on an operation.
Information was received that a wanted male from Oklahoma with 2 nationwide warrants was in our area.
As law enforcement entered the area of the suspects location he ran to a vehicle and attempted to flee, in the process, ramming a Fergus County Deputy’s vehicle who was trying to block him in.
A vehicle pursuit began, lasting an hour, mostly off-road through fields and farmland.
Eventually, the suspect attempted to drive through the river and became stuck. The suspect exited the vehicle and was taken into custody. More charges are expected.

🚨MULTIPLE INJURY CRASHES🚨

Yesterday (May 6th) around 6pm, Central Montana Dispatch received a call reporting a 2 vehicle accident on US87 by Moore. Multiple agencies responded. Upon arrival, deputies observed multiple people with injuries due to the crash. The highway was blocked off as first responders rendered aid. Both occupants from the vehicles were transported to the hospital via ambulance, their current status is unknown. A dog was also injured and transported by Clear Creek Vet. Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
A short time later, Central Montana Dispatch received a call reporting a boat crash by the James Kipp Campground. Multiple agencies responded. Upon arrival, deputies observed an occupant of the boat to be injured due to the crash. The occupant was transported to the hospital by private vehicle, their status is unknown. This investigation is ongoing by multiple agencies.
The agencies involved in these crashes were Fergus County Sheriff’s Office, Judith Basin County Sheriff’s Office, Phillips County Sheriff’s Office, Montana Highway Patrol, Hobson Ambulance, CMMC Ambulance, Phillips County Ambulance, Phillips County Dispatch, Central MT Dispatch, US Fish & Wildlife Service, and Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. These incidents show the amazing team work when not just 1 big incident happens but multiple. Great Job to everyone involved, it’s an honor to serve alongside you all!

This week we celebrate our detention officers who hold down the tough job of running our County Jail. We hold for multiple counties and the Department of Corrections, usually running at near full capacity. Our staff does a great job and we are very thankful for them!
