🚧 RAILROAD CROSSING UPGRADES – TRAFFIC & PARKING NOTICE 🚧

Beginning Friday, June 12, NO PARKING will be permitted on West Water Street between South Juniata Street and South Wayne Street in preparation for upcoming railroad crossing improvements.

Starting Monday, June 15, North Shore Railroad will begin upgrades to the railroad tracks located on West Water Street between South Juniata Street and South Wayne Street. The project will include the removal of deteriorated concrete crossing panels and their replacement with asphalt base and asphalt wearing course materials.

🗓 Project Schedule

Work begins: Monday, June 15
Expected completion: Wednesday, June 17
All work is weather dependent.

🚧 Road Closure
During construction, West Water Street will be closed to through traffic between South Juniata Street and South Wayne Street.

🚫 Parking Restrictions
To allow for the safe movement of construction equipment and crews, parking will not be permitted along this section of West Water Street. Parking spaces will be clearly marked and blocked off during the project.

Please observe all posted parking restrictions and traffic control measures to help ensure the work can be completed safely and efficiently.

🚨 Flooding Advisory 🚨

Borough employees are currently out inspecting storm inlets and manholes throughout the Borough due to flooding caused by today's storm.

Please use caution when traveling, especially on roadways with standing water. Be alert for Borough vehicles and personnel working in affected areas, and avoid driving through flooded roadways whenever possible.

We appreciate your patience as crews work to clear water from impacted areas.

Please use cation in the area of 517 South Main Street Thursday May 28th, 2026. There will be flaggers and a lane restriction due to sewer line repairs beginning at 6 am until the repair is completed.

Borough Offices are Closed Monday May 25th.

If you normally set Refuse out Sunday for Monday pick up it will need to be set out Monday for Tuesday Pick up this week. All other days remain the same. Monday recycling will need held until next scheduled pick up day.

Road Work Notice – Monday, May 18

The railroad will be performing road work on Water Street at the following intersections:

Water Street & Juniata Street
Water Street & Main Street
Water Street & Dorcas Street

Businesses and residences along water street will be accessible from side side streets during construction.

Please use alternate routes and use caution in the area.

Road work is scheduled for Thursday, May 7, 2026 on South Main Street, between W Water Street and E Hale Street.

🕖 Work will begin at 7:00 AM
🚦 Traffic will be limited to one lane in the work zone
