The Public Library in the 1950s: this was when the library was in the Apprentices Literary Society Building on E Third St, Lewistown (the ALS building was erected circa 1853; it currently houses the United Way).

"Girls just wanna have fun!"

United Way attended the Juniata River Valley Chamber of Commerce Women's Conference on Wednesday.
It was a wonderful day of meeting new friends and reconnecting with others.
One of the women at our table used a filter to show us dressed in the 80's theme.
Love it!

If there are High School students who need volunteer opportunities or companies who are looking for a way to give back to the community and volunteer, I strongly recommend contacting Darla Rickert, CIV the Military and Family Readiness Specialist.
United Way of Mifflin Juniata spent the afternoon in the blazing hot sun at the armory volunteering to hand out food boxes with the Military share program. While we were only there for the afternoon, Darla and a group of dedicated friends do this every month.
On the first Thursday of every month - some time it changes like today (Tuesday) the line forms around the parking lot SEVERAL times, slowly but surely the end of the line eventually comes.😀 It is a worthwhile, much appreciated gift of time and effort.
