Today I put the flags and solar powered lights around our library so you can find it in the dark. Lol
Why do I have a little free library in my front yard might you ask?
Reading was very important to my family growing up. My Dad always had a book in his hands (Science fiction), I don't remember ever seeing him without one. My Mom was a librarian and an avid reader, writer herself. I spent many hours with Mom in a library. I use to do odd jobs just to make money for my batteries so I could hide under my covers to read past my bedtime at night. There where many time we did not have a television growing up and I was so glad I loved reading books during this time. I was a bookworm in school. You could always find me with a book in my hand.
As a Mother myself I felt strongly that it was part of my job to teach my children how to love reading books. If they wanted to read, I found away to get them the books they wanted. I still feel that way about my grandchildren.
Kids now a days are more interested in video games and YouTube videos. I am afraid kids are not going to want to read anymore. So I am doing my best to get people to read.Come check out our Library, there might be a book that you just cant put down. We might help you become a bookworm too!!!
