ROAD CLOSURES:
- Vineyard Drive, from Bailey Drive to Hillcrest Road (CLOSED)
- 29th Street, from Country Club Drive to Meadowlark Drive (CLOSED)
- 11th Avenue, from Prospect Avenue to Snake River Avenue (CLOSED)
- 10th Street, from Miller Grade to 7th Avenue (CLOSED)

As the storm continues, plows will be out removing snow. It is important to remember that plows are set to plow close to ground level, NOT directly on the pavement. This helps to avoid disastrous impacts with utility lids/valves. To address snow/ice that may remain after plowing, sand and deicer may be used.

If you don’t need to go out, please stay warm and safe at home. If you do need to go out, plan for additional time, drive with caution, and remember there’s nothing more important than keeping yourself and those sharing the road with you safe.

WWTP Project Update

07/01/2020

The City of Lewiston is pleased to announce the launch of its new website!

The new website officially went live at 8:45 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2020. The web address http:// www.cityoflewiston.org remains the same. It may take up to 48 hours for these changes to propagate throughout the internet. Here are a few things you can do if you are not able to access the new website within the next 48 hours:
• If you attempt to use https:// in front of the web address, it may not load the new website. Instead, use http:// (without the “s”) until the new website populates.
• Clear your local browser cache and close out of your web application completely. Then, open your application and attempt going to the site again.
• If you have any City of Lewiston web pages bookmarked from the old site, please clear those and save them in their new format.
• If you are still unable to open the new website after 48 hours, please contact our helpful staff at 208-746-3671.

“The website exists to be a resource and place of timely information for our residents and visitors,” Public Information Officer Carol Maurer said. “That’s why it is so important that we are diligent about maintaining it and upgrading as improved technology becomes available.”

Part of this transition included bringing the old Lewiston Library website onto the same platform, which is helpful for users wanting to navigate from one city department to another.

Residents and visitors are now able to communicate with the City and find what they need much faster through some of these new features:
• Overall ease of use and intuitive design that is responsive to all types of devices. This means you can browse the website from any device, whether that is your smartphone, desktop computer, tablet, etc., and the screen will format to the size of the device.
• Everything was migrated following accessibility compliance and staff are working on a system to help keep the site accessible to all.
• Internal search engine that pulls information from within the website only, versus a Google search engine that may pull information from outside sources or outdated information that was cached in your programs’ memory.
• Navigation menus were created with the user in mind. Staff recorded traffic data on the website for a year before the redesign process, identifying the most commonly searched topics. Those items are now prominently located on the homepage and within the global navigation menu at the top of the website.
• An updated Agenda Center. This new area of the website houses agendas for meetings and their corresponding documents/media, including full packets of information, minutes from past meetings, and links to videos from recorded meetings, and it's all in one location.
• A new Notification Center that allows users to subscribe for alerts (email and text message options) for all news and announcements, bid postings, emergency updates, road closures, etc.
• Robust Event Calendar and News and Announcements section that can both be accessed from the homepage of the website.
• In the process of consolidating, the City decided to retire the QAlert system and replace it with this resource page: http://www.cityoflewiston.org/FAQ.aspx that contains frequently asked questions and answers, as well as instructions for reporting an issue.

The City encourages everyone to explore the new website and its various features.

Caregivers: Do you have a family member in a retirement center or an independent living facility and want to know how to protect them from COVID-19? Here are some tips to help support your loved one:
• Know what medications they take and help them talk to their doctor about getting extra on hand
• Check their supplies of food and other medical supplies (oxygen, incontinence, dialysis, wound care). Create a back-up plan
• Stock up on non-perishable food to have on hand so they can minimize store trips
• Help them stay connected using non face-to-face forms of communication
• Ask about the health of other residents frequently and know the protocol if there is an outbreak
