First of all, here's the link to our last EVER blog post:

And this is the last post on this page.
Bittersweet indeed
Here is a repost from my personal page:
"One Last Time"
It's been an honor and privilege to teach the 4 to 6 year olds in this caring and close knit community. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
In the beginning I taught preschool (a.m. and p.m. classes) on Tuesday and Thursday; and Kindergarten on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Best estimate on the number of students I've taught is 700.
I have loved and accepted every child that has come through my door. And I hope I have taught them a little bit more than reading and math:
to love learning,
to love their friends and family,
and most importantly, to love themselves.
And they have taught me the exact same lessons! Life is funny that way!
The friendships I've made with my school family are priceless. I could not have done this job without them. They've been there through the good and the bad. My heart was overflowing this spring with all the loving and funny gestures to celebrate me! I thank you!
My family, well, they were also immersed in my career whether they wanted to be or not! Haha! I thank them for all the projects they helped with and summer school they assisted and donations they bought for my room. Their support made it easy for me to immerse myself in educating little ones.
And I've learned to embrace my own quirks: Rainbow order everything, singing (off key) all the time, being a little too loud, a little too silly, a little too sparkly for some but just enough to be me!
A couple of kindergarten words of wisdom:
"I love you just the way you are" says our favorite skunk puppet
"Be kind, be safe, be ready" our rules for being a good human
"Please don't lick the table"
"It's just part of being human"quoted from my oldest granddaughter when she was 3 and used by me for everything from a little hurt, to minor inconveniences, to big heartaches.
"We were just at the bathroom, why didn't you go then?" (If I had a nickel for everytime I said that, I'd be retiring a rich woman!)
And my favorite response to 'what does this say, Mrs O'Duggan?'when kids point to words...
"Bring your teacher chocolate!" Haha!
Today, I shut the lights off one last time.
