The Summer season is just about upon us! It is time once again for our Pub Ed in the Park events. It is always great to meet and talk with the public about important safety topics as well as answer questions about the fire department. We have some new handouts and information along with some new displays. Come out and see us! Also, we will be adding 1 day per month for Pub Ed in the Museum!. Come to the fire station, look around the museum, enjoy the airconditioning and get some in valuable safety information.

The 2026 dates, times and locations will be as follows.

10:30 am until 1:00 pm.
June 10th and 24th - Hufnagle Park
June 17th - William Cameron Engine Company

10:30 am until 1:00 pm
July 8th and 22nd - St Mary St Park
July 15th - William Cameron Engine Company

10:30 am until 1:00 pm
August 5th - St Anthony St Park ( Wolf Fields)
(Tentative date) August 12th - W-Chili Township Building
August 19th - D.F. Green Park
August 26th - William Cameron Engine Company

All scheduled dates are subject to cancellation due to extreme heat or inclement weather.

EMT and Paramedic friends. WE ARE HIRING!!!! Our department is growing and WE NEED YOU!

Our immediate needs are full-time and per diem paramedics for our partner MICU; MICU 50 in Middleburg, PA. We are also hiring a full-time and Per Diem EMT’s at this location.

***You are not required to be Firefighter qualified in these positions***

This rural truck works off of a shift schedule of 24 hours on and 72 hours off. Call volume averages at 4-6 transports per day with response times averaging from 5-25 minutes and transport times averaging from 30-70 minutes.

We practice real medicine here. In this progressive system, we are with patients long enough to see the effects of our treatments, and we need competent and aggressive providers.

If you are a FF/EMT or a FF/Paramedic, we invite you to get your name on the list for our next testing cycle. Paramedics in Lewisburg can opt to be Paramedic only providers. All positions in Lewisburg are full-time, but we do also accept volunteer applications for medical providers. (Great for PHRN’s and Pre-Hospital Extenders (PA’s) that are looking to get field experience or break up the monotony of the clinic).

We practice the entire scope of the PA state protocols for both BLS and ALS providers.

This morning, C shift of Local 4917 was dispatched to West Chillisquaque Township for a working structure fire.

1 victim was transported to Geisinger Medical Center. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers!

❄️ Winter Storm Travel Alert ❄️

Sunday’s storm is expected to create treacherous travel conditions. BVRPD asks residents to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.

Vehicles stuck or blocking roadways delay plow trucks and first responders who are trying to keep roads open and respond to emergencies.

For those who must travel for work or emergencies, prepare your vehicle with supplies and use extreme caution.
