In Union County Court today, Timothy Dowhower of Mifflinburg was convicted of aggravated indecent assault, sexual extortion, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of a child and numerous counts of indecent assault following a three day jury trial. Special recognition goes out to First Assistant District Attorney, Phil Sassaman, who served as lead prosecutor in the case; Dan Crossland, office legal intern, who waded through 25,000 pages of digital evidence and organized it in a manner that made it easily understandable by the jury and Trooper James Nestico of the Pennsylvania State Police who was the lead investigator and did a phenomenal job. Finally, we recognize the service of the jurors in this matter. They listened attentively throughout this matter and rendered a fair and just verdict. Mr. Dowhower’s bail was revoked and he was placed in the Union County Prison where he will await sentencing following the preparation of a pre-sentence investigation report.
