Harrison Township was set off from Twin Township in 1815. The first elected officials began serving January 1, 1816. There were three trustees, a treasurer, clerk, an appraiser, three road supervisors, two constables, two overseers of the poor, two fence viewers, and two justices of the peace. Township officials were elected for only one year until 1886 when trustees were elected for three-year te

rms and the clerk for a two-year term. It was not until 1956 that the trustees and clerk were elected to four-year terms.

A little out of our realm of normal activity. We are opening our building to host a sports physical clinic next Friday 6/5 at 5PM where Nuse Medical will be completing physicals for athletes in need. We hope that events like this can save our residents some gas money, a Doctors office visit, and keep the kids on the fields or courts in the coming year. Open to anyone not just TCN kids!

It is with profound sadness, we would like to share the passing of George Isaac Prater our long time employee, coworker, friend, and historian. He passed away yesterday 5/16/2026 at Kettering Health Preble County. George had a brash personality, but a kind heart, and did so much for so many. A man that could literally fix anything.

This is going to be a tough week around Roselawn with the upcoming Memorial Day holiday. George took pride in having the place top notch every year. We will honor him by doing our best to do the same. This picture sums him up, he was not one for a picture. Not afraid to get dirty and get it done no matter the task. Please keep his family, close friends, and co-workers in your thoughts and prayers.

Further details will be announced as his beloved daughter works through these trying times.
