Bucknell University Army ROTC

Bucknell University Army ROTC The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) offers unparalleled leadership training and development. This is the official page for Bucknell ROTC.

The Army Reserve Officer Training Corps at Bucknell University is a voluntary program designed to enhance a student's education by providing unique and challenging leadership and management experience. This program helps students develop self-esteem, self-discipline, physical stamina, teamwork, and other qualities essential to success in any workplace. Army ROTC invovles both classroom and applied

learning. With hands on instruction, studends learn and practice related skills. Through activities like orienteering, paintball, rappelling, rifle marksmanship, and field training exercies, the program stresses teamwork and the application of leadership principles to overcome situational problems and obstacles. As students progress through the program, senior cadets are given the opportunity to lead and teach underclassman. Completion of the program allows students the opportunity to commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Active Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard. In preparation for leading the soldiers of our great nation, instruction emphasizes leadership, management, ethics, and military history. Learning focuses on instruction and applied techniques. Can you believe it’s already been two weeks since the Bison Battalion Military Ball?! We are grateful to have heard motivating words from our guest speaker, Retired Major General James G. McCormack. It was a night to remember as we celebrated traditions, including grog, recognized our premier cadets’ hard work, danced, and enjoyed each other’s company. We extend a special thank you to everyone who made this event possible. 🦬🇺🇸

Many of our seniors are getting ready to graduate from their respective schools and are counting down the days until commissioning (9 days!). We wish all of our MS4s the best of luck at graduation. 🧑‍🎓👩‍🎓

This year, the Bison Battalion welcomed the Pennsylvania College of Technology, Lycoming College, Lock Haven University, and Mansfield University into the program. There is no doubt that these new schools have made a lasting impact on the battalion in just one year.

CDT Michael Kelly is the first senior highlight from Charlie Company. It’s been a pleasure having him on board this year. 🦬🇺🇸
