Preservation Parks of Delaware County Officers possess Ohio Basic Peace Officer Certification. The park police get

their authority from the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) section 1545.13 which states:

"The employees that the Board of Park Commissioners designate for that purpose may exercise all the powers of police officers within and adjacent to the lands under the jurisdiction and control of the Board…"

Please be advised, the lower parking lot at Shale Hollow Park is currently closed due to icy conditions and the Chilly Trek hike scheduled for this evening at Gallant Woods Park has been canceled.

The woods always brings new sights and experiences. As I walked at Shale Hollow Park this morning. I noticed this snake skin hanging from a tree. It was approximately 4 feet long. As good a place as any for a snake to shed their skin! Chief Welch.
