Our Excelcare team hit the starting line for the Harvest Hustle 5K! 🏃‍♀️🍂 It was a great day in Lewes, DE, getting outside, supporting our community, and cheering each other on from start to finish. We’re always proud to see our team come together beyond the workplace and get involved in the communities we serve. Way to go, team! 👏

Yesterday we had the privilege of joining CHEER, Sussex County at a Meet & Greet Luncheon. We had the opportunity to share what we do and learn more about the programs, activities, and services they offer. It's always special to meet with other organizations that are passionate about helping older adults!

Last November, Janeen's mother unexpectedly passed away. In the midst of her grief, Janeen faced another question: how would she make sure her 99-year-old grandmother, Gilda, had the support she needed?

That's when they found Village Volunteers.

Since then, Gilda has been getting out of the house more. She's happier when the volunteers come to visit. Janeen is able to balance the responsibilities of her marriage, her job, and being a mother, knowing Gilda has a Village that cares. And along the way, the idea of neighbors helping neighbors reached Gilda's teenage great-grandson, Jackson, too.

Smart 911 is a free service that allows users to provide important information to 911 call takers, such as their address, health conditions, pets, and special instructions for entering a residence. Having these details readily available during a call allows call takers to facilitate an emergency response more quickly and efficiently, especially in situations where the caller is unable to speak or provide information.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us at Saturday's Harvest Hustle 5k Run/1k Walk! We had 33 sponsors and over 130 racers join us in support of our mission of helping older adults age in place.

Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful community, we exceeded our fundraising goal! We couldn't have done it without you💚
