82 years ago today, more than 150,000 Allied troops crossed the English Channel and stormed the beaches of Normandy.

Many of them never made it off the sand. They went anyway — into the water, into the gunfire, knowing the odds — because the alternative was a world ruled by fascism.

The freedom we have today was bought on those beaches.

We remember them.

Over the past 6 months, half of Trump’s ballroom donors have ‘won’ over $50B in federal contracts. The biggest winner was Lockheed Martin with over $43.8B in new or expanded contracts. However, other notable tech giants such as Palantir have benefited as well.

But that only tracks the companies we know of. The White House has kept donor information under wraps, despite lawsuits under the Freedom of Information Act to obtain records.

Only around 21 company donors have been publicly disclosed by the White House, 6 more were identified by news outlets.

The company donors aren’t just profiting, they’re quietly getting legal actions dropped.

16 of the 27 donors have faced federal enforcement actions that were suddenly dropped or suspended by the Trump admin. This includes big antitrust cases against major tech companies.

White House Spokesperson Davis Ingle denied the corruption, saying, ‘the same critics who are alleging fake conflicts of interests, would also complain if American taxpayers were footing the bill for these long-overdue renovations.’

This statement conveniently forgets that Senate Republicans did try to make American taxpayers pay $1B for the ballroom, though the attempt was later dropped.

And also, no one asked for these renovations except Trump.

Donald Trump marked the 500th day of his second term on Thursday, facing his lowest approval ratings yet, according to a new Economist/YouGov survey. Just 35 percent of Americans approve of Trump's job performance, while 60 percent disapprove, giving him a net approval rating of -25.

Public opinion has continued to sour in recent weeks, with voters growing more frustrated by both the administration's Iran campaign and the economy.

The poll suggests that economic concerns remain Trump's biggest political liability ahead of November's midterm elections. Three-quarters of respondents rated the nation's economy as either ‘poor’ or ‘fair,’ while Trump's approval rating on inflation fell to a second-term low.

Pollsters also found growing dissatisfaction with his handling of jobs, foreign policy, immigration, and crime, sounding alarms for Republicans ahead of the midterms.
