For the first time, we’re excited to give our community a look inside the new gear room.

This space was designed with two priorities in mind: response readiness and the health and safety of our firefighters.

Our turnout gear is one of the most important pieces of equipment we have, but after a fire it can also carry smoke, soot, products of combustion, and other contaminants. Our new gear room provides a dedicated area for the proper storage and organization of our members’ protective equipment while helping us maintain a cleaner and healthier firehouse environment.

The layout also keeps our gear organized, accessible, and ready—helping our firefighters get equipped and on the apparatus quickly when seconds matter.

This project represents another investment in the future of Falls Township Fire Company No. 1—protecting the firefighters who protect our community while ensuring we remain prepared to respond.

We’re proud of the progress being made around our station and even more excited to finally share a look at this new space with the community we serve.

Last night, members of the Falls Township Fire Company No. 1 came together to complete a post-incident critique of last month’s first-due structure fire on Amesbury Drive.

Post-incident critiques provide an important opportunity for our members to review fireground operations, discuss what worked well, identify areas for improvement, and reinforce lessons learned from real-world incidents. Taking the time to evaluate our performance helps ensure that we continue to grow as chiefs, firefighters, and as an organization while remaining prepared to provide the highest level of service to our community.

A special thank you to Deputy Chief Tim Chamberlain for facilitating the critique and leading a productive discussion with our members.

Early this morning, Ladder 30 responded to assist Trenton Fire Department on a three alarm dwelling fire. Crews operated for just over an hour before returning.

Our thoughts are with all of those affected by this tragic fire.

A&A Machinery recently donated lifting slings, chain come-alongs, and rigging shackles to help outfit Rescue 30. This equipment will enhance our heavy rescue and lifting capabilities and provide our crews with additional tools to safely and effectively handle a variety of emergency situations.

Support from local businesses and community partners like A&A Machinery plays an important role in helping us maintain the equipment and capabilities needed to serve Falls Township and our surrounding communities.

We sincerely appreciate A&A Machinery’s generosity and continued support of the fire service and our community.

This morning at 01:37, Falls Township Fire Company No. 1 was dispatched to a local buisness for an automatic fire alarm. While enroute, the assignment was upgraded to a reported building fire. Deputy 30 arrived on scene to find a fire in the office area and established command. Engine and Ladder 30 arrived, along with mutual aid companies. Crews quickly extinguished the fire before checking for extension and completing ventilation.

There were no injuries reported and the fire is under investigation by Falls Township Fire Marshal.

Training has continued operating with new tools and equiptment on Rescue 30. As we continue to expand our capabilities, we must train regularly to maintain competency and develop skills.

We would like to thank Junkyard Barbie Pic-A-Part, Jyb Michelle for their continued support. Without their support, this type of realistic training would not be possible. If you’re looking to get rid of junk cars, please send them their way!
