Empowering Our Youth, Building Brighter Futures!
This past Saturday, students had the opportunity to attend an inspiring forum at Alabama State University, sponsored by The Elmore Bolling Initiative.
The event focused on financial literacy, budgeting, goal setting, and the importance of voting and civic engagement. Students gained valuable knowledge and life skills to help them make informed decisions and prepare for a successful future.
A special thank you to The Elmore Bolling Initiative for investing in our youth and providing such a meaningful learning experience!

Bringing Biology to Life Through Virtual Reality!
Ms. Simms’ Biology students at The Calhoun School were actively engaged in an immersive Virtual Reality (VR) lesson exploring Biomolecules! Through this interactive learning experience, students explored the structure and function of biomolecules, the importance of water in maintaining homeostasis, and how carbohydrates and lipids store energy in living organisms.
This hands-on technology experience brought ALCOS Standards 4a, 4b, and 5b to life, allowing students to visualize complex biological concepts in an exciting and meaningful way!
