The City of Leon Valley is currently responding to a major water main break in the area of Poss Road, Evers Road, Trotter Lane, and Sulky Drive. 🚧 Water Main Break – Avoid Area 🚧

The City of Leon Valley is currently responding to a major water main break in the area of Poss Road, Evers Road, Trotter Lane, and Sulky Drive.

👷‍♂️ Public Works crews are on site and actively working to assess the situation and begin repairs.\
🏠 Nearby homes have been notified.\
⚠️ Crews are currently waiting for CPS Energy to complete utility locates before repairs can safely begin.

🚗 Please avoid the area if possible to allow crews the space they need to safely restore water service and complete repairs.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Thomas B. Sing, former Captain with the Balcones Heights Fire Department. He was the founder of the Central Texas Fire and Arson Investigators Group and a dedicated public servant who assisted on many fires in Leon Valley over the past 20 years.

Thomas was more than a respected professional, he was a close friend and trusted colleague to so many in the fire service. His knowledge, service, and lasting impact on our community will not be forgotten.

Our heartfelt condolences are with his family, friends, and the Balcones Heights Fire Department during this difficult time. ❤️🚒

⚠️ Traffic Light Alert: A light is hanging at Seneca & Evers. Please use caution. Repairs are scheduled — expect possible delays. 🚦 Traffic Light Alerte – Seneca & Evers

We are aware of the hanging traffic light at Seneca and Ever. Our crews have inspected it and do not believe it is in danger of falling under normal conditions.

A contractor has been contacted to make the necessary repair. City staff will continue working to ensure the issue is resolved as quickly as possible.

Please use caution in the area and expect possible traffic delays during repairs. We will continue to monitor the situation and share updates as they become available.

📍 Impacted area: 6635–6799 Bandera Rd. inside the Savings Square business complex.
💡 The contractor will work to minimize the outage time as much as possible.

🚒💔 Honoring Merwin "Buddy" Tedford Turk Jr. 💔🚒
The Leon Valley Fire Department mourns the passing of Merwin "Buddy" Tedford Turk Jr. (April 6, 1944 – January 18, 2025). Buddy proudly served LVFD for 20 years (1976-1996), dedicating his time and bravery to protecting our community.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and fellow firefighters. Rest in peace, Buddy—your service and legacy will never be forgotten. 🙏🔥
