Our Station 1, C-Shift crew, completed the workout “Murph” this Memorial Day. Each member finished the workout in under and hour. “Murph”, a Crossfit workout named after US Navy Seal Michael Murphy who was killed in Afghanistan in 2005, is a traditionally completed on Memorial Day by Crossfitters and general fitness enthusiasts across the globe to honor the service of Lieutenant Murphy.

The workout: In a weighted vest, 1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, and then another 1 mile run!

Let us know where you hear them (or don’t hear them if you normally do!)

Remember: Outdoor warning sirens are designed to be heard outdoors and are just one part of your emergency alerting toolkit.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Engineer (PM) Sean O'Bryant, who died off-duty on Monday, April 27th. Sean honorably served the Lenexa community since 2015. Funeral services have not yet been announced. We are focused on supporting Firefighter O’Bryant’s family and our department membership. Out of respect for the family and the Lenexa Fire Department, no other details are being released at this time. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

In Lenexa, we all roll together. 🚲🛴Whether it’s an e-bike, scooter or skateboard, safety starts before you roll — wear a helmet, practice braking and stay alert.

Small habits prevent big injuries.
