CVW-17 proudly serves at the “tip of the spear,” deploying onboard and supporting our nine carrier air wing squadrons while serving at the forefront of the Global War on Terrorism. Carrier Air Wing SEVENTEEN is presently composed of the following squadrons:

VFA-22 "Redcocks" - F/A-18F Super Hornet

VFA-94 "Mighty Shrikes" - F/A-18F Super Hornet

VFA-137 "Kestrels" - F/A-18E Super Hornet

"Blue Diamonds" - F/A-18E Super Hornet

VAQ-139 "Cougars" - EA-18G Growler

HSM-73 "Battlecats" - MH-60R Seahawk

HSC-6 "Indians" - MH-60S Seahawk

VAW-121 "Bluetails" - E-2D Hawkeye

VRC-40 "Rawhides" - C-2A Greyhound

Carrier Air Wing SEVENTEEN is currently attached to the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) which is home ported in Bremerton, WA.
