The folks keeping an eye on our waterways are coming to Leland. 🌊

Our friends at Cape Fear River Watch will be hosting a meet-and-greet at the LCAC on Thursday, June 25, from 4-5 p.m. to talk about the work they're doing to monitor water quality, prevent pollution, and keep local waterways cleaner.

You'll also hear how residents can get involved and help protect the creeks, streams, and rivers that are part of everyday life in our region.

We're going to need your help to make this day perfect! We are looking for volunteers to assist us at Founders Park Grand Opening ⭐️

Volunteers can expect to help with the following tasks:
✔️Set-up and break-down
✔️Assist event coordinators
✔️Assist community groups with their set-up
✔️Event greeter

Volunteers must be 16 or older to volunteer alone. Anyone under 16 must be registered with a guardian.

Leland, after months of anticipation, it's finally time to celebrate! 🥳

The Founders Park Grand Opening is Friday, July 31, and we're marking the occasion with an evening of live music, family activities, food, and fun from 5 to 8 p.m.

The festivities begin with a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m., followed by The Embers featuring Craig Woolard taking the stage in the new amphitheater at 6 p.m.

You'll also be able to explore the park's amenities, including the splash pad, playground, multi-use trail, fitness equipment, Veterans Memorial, and more.

Bring a lawn chair, bring a blanket, and bring the whole family.
