Supervisor Mala Brooks

Supervisor Mala Brooks Vote Mala Brooks-Supervisor District 4 November 5, 2019 It is now time to bring commitment and fresh ideas in order to continue building on our legacy.

I am excited to be running for Mississippi Senate District 22, because I care about the Mississippi Delta - it’s strong people, rich history and promising future. Please allow me to tell you a bit about me and my plans as a candidate. I have been very active in the Democratic Party since I was a teenager. I became a member of Young Democrats of Mississippi in 1991. For three terms, I represented M

ississippi as the national committeewoman for Young Democrats of America. I was elected as a member on the Washington County Democratic Executive Committee for 12 years. Also, I chaired a committee and served on the Mississippi Democratic Executive Committee for eight years. I am currently an alderwoman serving in my third term (10 years) for the City of Leland. As an alderwoman, I have advocated for safe and affordable housing, fought for better roads and drainage systems, worked for historical preservation and pushed for a balanced budget without raising taxes. In addition to being a public servant, I am employed by a national organization dedicated to improve education in the state. I have a vested interest in improving the quality of life in Bolivar, Humphreys, Sharkey, Washington & Yazoo counties. I was born and reared in Leland, Mississippi. I know first-hand the issues facing our families. As your next Senator, I will work hard to improve public infrastructure, explore educational options that better educate our children, work with the business community to improve the workforce and to support the needs of farmers. You deserve better and I want to deliver. I am ready to take a stand and represent Senate District 22 on a new path to safer communities, stronger families, accessible healthcare, economic development and job creation. The concerns that our citizens have are real. I respectfully ask for your vote, support and prayers, so you can have a voice represented in the Mississippi Legislature.
