This week, Leipsic Firefighters partnered with the City of Napoleon Fire Department for a live fire training session focused on strengthening core fireground skills.

Training emphasized aggressive interior fire attack, fire officer scene size‑up and 360s, efficient hose stretches, and pump operations. Throughout the day, crews completed four live fire evolutions involving one‑story, second‑floor, and basement fire scenarios.

These hands‑on training opportunities are critical to maintaining readiness and ensuring our firefighters are prepared to protect our community safely and effectively. Thank you to the City of Napoleon Fire Department for the partnership and teamwork.

Tonight’s the night for the Leipsic Fire Department and the Leipsic Area Chamber of Commerce Reverse Raffle!

🚒 Helping Keep Our Village Businesses Safe 🚒

The Leipsic Fire Department is actively working to bolster our Knox Box program and is sharing information with local business owners about its importance.

A Knox Box is a secure key box mounted on the exterior of a building that allows firefighters quick access during an emergency. In the event of a fire, medical emergency, or alarm activation, Knox Boxes help us gain entry faster, reduce property damage, and get help where it’s needed without delay—often eliminating the need for forced entry. Each Knox Box can only be opened with a proprietary key controlled by the fire department, ensuring building security is maintained at all times.

The fire department has purchased several Knox Boxes and is working to expand their use throughout the village. These Knox Boxes are available to local businesses, and department members can show how they work and explain proper installation and use.

Business owners with questions or interest in participating are encouraged to contact the Village of Leipsic or any one of the members of the Leipsic the fire department.

🔥 Training Day!

Today, Leipsic Firefighters teamed up with Western Buckeye Training LLC and the Napoleon Fire Department for an intense First Due Engine Company Operations live fire class.
Crews trained on the first actions to take when arriving at six different types of residential structure fires. These realistic scenarios help reinforce safe, effective fireground operations and sharpen our skills to ensure the best possible outcomes when it matters most.

Each year for fire prevention week, one student in each class K-3 is chosen for a fire truck ride to school. Today we were able to give 12 students from Leipsic Elementary a ride. Last week we awarded 4 students from Leipsic St Mary’s with a trip. Congratulations to all of the students!
