The Village drained the fire hydrants so if you have water filters or a water filtration system, you might want to drain the water coming into the filters to get clean water behind the filters.

PLEASE NOTE:
Randomly selected residents of the Village of Leigh have received a letter from the Northeast Nebraska Economic Development District (NENEDD) containing an income survey. If you have received one of these letters, we highly recommend that you answer the question and return the survey via the envelope provided to you ASAP. This survey is being done to help determine if our community would be eligible for grants for community improvement projects. Your individual answers will not be directly shared with anyone from the community, but rather NENEDD will tally the results to determine if our community is eligible for certain grants based on our community's average income. Thank you for your cooperation. If you have further questions, please call the City Office or NENEDD.

Members of the Village Board recently accepted a $1000 check from Curt Becker of the Lower Elkhorn NRD to help cover costs of replacing trees on the north side of Centennial Park Lake. The funds were made available through a grant from the Community Forestry Incentive Program.

What happened to the big silver drop box?? Well... some of you may know that we have been wanting to get the front of the building restained for awhile. To make a very long story short, the company that is going to do the work is running behind due to weather etc. They are hoping to come this Friday the 19th to start work. The drop box has been moved to the front entryway, The front door will remain unlocked so that everyone can deposit their bills, books and/or items that you have for the library or the city office. If you have any questions just call the office 487-3303 or the library 487-2507.

A set of headphones/ear buds was found at the Leigh ballpark a few weeks ago and left at the Village office. Call the Village office and identify them if they are yours.

Thanks to everyone who decorated their business, home or yard for the Village of Leigh Christmas Lighting Contest. Listed below are this year's winners.

A plaque from the Village of Leigh was presented to Larry Fuhr for his years of service on the Leigh Village Board. Chairman Scott Kurpgeweit presented the plaque to Larry on December 17th after Larry's final meeting. Larry served on the board fron November 1991 until December 2024 for a total of 32 years. He served as Chairman from December 2000 to December 2023. Next time you see Larry, be sure to thank him for his years of service and dedication to the Village of Leigh Board of Trustees.
