FREE webinar for residents!!

Are you curious about the wildlife living all around us, maybe even in your backyard? Women on the Land will be joined by Halie Larkin, Wildlife Biologist with the Department of Conservation and Recreation, for a webinar focused on ways to observe wildlife, and some management recommendations if you want to benefit animals on your own property as well. Halie will go over tools to get better at wildlife observation and identification, habitat characteristics and plants that are beneficial to wildlife, and seasonal timing to view certain wildlife.

The Town of Leicester Zoning Board of Appeals is looking for new members!

Their duties include reviewing applications for projects that don't conform to zoning rules, hearing appeals from decisions made by the building inspector, and granting variances that allow for exceptions to zoning regulations in cases of undue hardship. The board conducts public hearings, considers public input, and makes decisions to ensure consistent application of land use regulations.

Also, the Zoning Board of Appeals acts as a Special Permit Granting Authority for applications for the following:

Non-conforming uses and structures
Signs
Uses allowed by Special Permit in the R1, R2, SA, I, and BI-A districts (except where specifically delegated to the Planning Board)
Wireless Communications Facilities (Cell Towers)
Water Resource Protection Overlay Special Permits
Private Kennels (except in BR-1)
Livestock & Chickens
All public hearings are held in accordance of MGL CH 40A Sections 8, 10, 11, and 13.

Meetings are held on an as needed basis
Members serve 5-year terms
