Greeting us this morning is a Stellar Bluejay. Native to western North America he is a bold, intelligent bird representing adaptability, fearlessness and resourcefulness. He is a spiritual reminder to trust your instincts and speak your truth.

Highway 101 as it crosses the Klamath River. The old bridge was destroyed and swept away during the 1964 floods but you can still get off the highway and see what's left of it along with 2 of the OG bears just a bit to the west of here. There's also a tribal casino and drive thru tree nearby so make sure you stop, fill up the tank and grab some snacks.

Memorial Day Weekend 2026
Saturday, May 23, Sunday, May 24 and Monday, May 25

A reminder for our guests, three-day weekends have traditionally been busy. Please expect delays. It is impossible to predict what the traffic will be like this holiday weekend. Bring something to do in the car in case you have to wait in line.

Most importantly, bring your patience and be respectful of other visitors when taking your pictures. We all want that perfect picture. Be sure to visit our gift shop for unique gifts, beverages, or “unhealthy snacks”. Drive carefully and enjoy the weekend.

All by its lonesome near the entrance kiosk is a wild strawberry, also known as the woodland strawberry or Fragaria Vesca. Beginning in April and peaking in May and June you can identify the plant by its white petals which dangle downward. The tiny bright red fruit is a favorite of birds, squirrels and chipmunks.
