There’s always something new to see even after many, many years of visiting and/or working in Drive-Thru Tree Park. This morning I noticed one of the branches looked like an arm with a knobby elbow. You’ve got to look up, as well as down, when looking at these marvelous trees, and don’t forget to use your imagination.

Good morning. Driving to work Old Blue was strutting across the field. Just could not resist taking the picture. He can often be seen sunning himself by one of the ponds. Not sure if Old Blue is a Great Blue Heron or a Little Blue Heron. He won’t let us get close enough to measure. Old Blue, or his ancestors, have been in the park for about 50 years.

Little fat banana slug almost perfectly camouflaged amidst the moss and redwood sorrel. That black spot looks like a dried up banana peel. When I was young I thought if you threw a banana peel outside it would turn into a banana slug.

Well, it’s raining this morning. There’s always someway to entertain yourself when it’s raining and you don’t want to go outside. Take a close look and you can see a bubble floating down with the water in the ditch.
