"Commitment is doing the thing you said you were going to do, long after the mood you said it in has left you" -Darren Hardy

One of my absolute favorite quotes because it resonates so true, especially in today's world. Conversations are filled with "yes, we need to get together soon" and "Let's not let this much time pass between visits again", and more often than not the results remain the same. Days go by, the mood leaves, and everyone gets back into their same routine.

So when doing your own research on candidates for this year's election, for all available positions, reflect on what Darren Hardy says. When all the mailers stop coming, the billboards change, and signs are removed from yards, who is still going to be just as present? Who has the commitment to not only be there when the votes are needed but for the rest of the time as well. When the mood is gone, the campaigns are over, and positions are elected... will those who didn't win their seat still be as active as they were trying to win your vote?

Working with and for the people of the township, putting time and effort into trying to restore a building on the circle, sponsoring local sport teams, donating to more and more local family's for Christmas every year, attending local shows and events, putting floats in the parades, contributing to local talk pages, and lending a helping hand whenever I can, I was doing this well before I ran for trustee and will continue to do after. And that's because I'm committed to this township. Before the mood of election came I was here. After I lost the 2023 Trustee election to Mr. Garwood, I was here. And win, lose, or draw, after this election i'll still be here, just as present as I have been.

It might be worth considering... have I heard from them before the election, and most importantly if they lose, will I hear from them after? I've proven that in non election years and after losing an election...

I'm Commited.

Vote Tuesday, November 4th
Logan Cope for Fairfield Township Trustee.

P.s. Please enjoy this picture of what I was doing before typing this post...playing still to this day, the best version of Mario Kart.

P.s.s. No I did not let Reed win. He has to earn it like the rest of us.😆

Choose Me for Me.

The Trustee seat was not created to be just another political position, which is why it is a non partisan race. It is 3 people chosen from the community we socialize with everyday, go to church with every week, and wave to on our way to work. So instead of any type of political post or another professional qualifications list. How about just a vision into my life so you can see who you're choosing, not just someone behind a piece of political campaign advertisement or yard sign.

My family loves NE Ohio. Sure we complain like everyone else come mid February when were unquestionably over winter, but we love the seasons. My wife, Kristen and I, love being parents and we always go all out for our kids. Most of you already saw our 10 Ft. Light up "ghost" on Columbiana Talk. And on Octover 31st after trick or treating, the Christmas boxes get carried up and its game on Novmeber 1st. We love the holidays and the pure joy that it brings spending it with our family.

Even with our over the top holidays, we really thrive in summer. We have a few bee hives that we tend to , and even Reed loves to put on his bee suit and see what the bees are up to. We fish in little tucked away farm ponds constantly in the evenings, Elouise and Reed love holding the fish. We have a large garden and a small personal orchard where we grow all of the stuff we use for canning. We have a fantastic pasta sauce, applesauce, and beet recipe! This past year we did our first maple syrup tap, just because us and the rest of my family like trying new things. The kids love taking our antique tractors down to the Lisbon Fair, where we take a light week of work and have a mini stay-cation. Reed has his own completely restored Bolens Lawn Tractor and most summer days he's just out riding, to no where in particular.

These pictures are me. Me and my family. The truest form of myself that there is. I am in my element when I am just able to be a Dad and a husband and just hangout on our little slice of heaven right outside of town. In a study conducted in 2023, Forbes said that up to 70% of people lie on their resume, such as fake their accomplishments or boost their past positions. Yard signs, mailers, and all the other paraphernalia that comes with politics, is just that, a list of qualifications. Resumes and accomplishment lists dont show you WHY any of us are really running. To know why I deserve to be elected your Trustee, you need to see me. See what makes me get up in the morning, what makes me laugh and cry, and what makes me be person I strive to be day in and day out.

These pictures are the why. These weren't shot for any political pose or scripted commercial. They are me unedited and in most of them dirty lol. But that's ok because this is what I love.

This is who I am. Choose Me for Me.

Blame it all on my roots...

I am the 4th generation (at least) to establish myself in Fairfield Township. My family has lived here and actively voted in our area for well over 100 years. My grandparents Rich and Mary Lou Cope have been here for 80+ years. My parents Brian and Vicki Cope have lived here 50+ years. And now my wife, kids and I have only ever called this township home.

Columbiana is growing. Columbiana is changing, and by default the areas surrounding it will change as well. Whether you're for or against it, the reality is progression happens regardless and the best thing to do is be prepared. What's coming, how does it effect us, and what can we do to mitigate those effects to best serve the entire community. That is what I want to be, the forefront of the newer generation who is coming up to help lead our area into new horizons.

The events in our area are different from even 10 years ago. Markets on Main, The Witch Walk, BeerFest in New Waterford and Columbiana (with bands like Hinder and Saliva, which is still crazy to me that they come here to play, that's amazing). People are coming here, moving here, renting here, investing their time and money here. Change can be scary but change can be good. I am not your typical Fairfield Township Trustee Candidate, I am younger by 10 years than the next closest two and by 35-40 years than the other more experienced candidates. If you're voting for experience than I'm afraid I won't be your first choice and that is ok, experience is something you can only get by starting. If your voting for change and a fresh set of ideas and a commitment to do what's best for the township and keeping the voters more involved... well I still might not be your first vote but dang I'm getting closer!

100 years. My family has worked the ground, owned buildings downtown, ran businesses outside city limits, invested in the community, grumbled about the community in the barber shop, and most importantly, we've been here. And in those 100 years I am not a 4th generation politician, no immediate relative before me has held public office in our township, so, why not me? I grew up hearing about and knowing the township for the past 100 years, and I'm living in the current ever-changing Columbiana area we have now. Why not me. Columbiana is growing. Columbiana is changing. Change can be good.

Vote Logan Cope - Fairfield Township Trustee.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to reintroduce myself on here for any new followers we may have and to give an update for everyone that was with me in 2023. My vision still remains the same as I was last time I ran and I think the same advances are still needed in our community.

My wife, Kristen, and I were born in raised here, had our first house together in Cimarron Development in Columbiana, and more recently purchased our small forever farm just outside city limits. We have a son, Reed, who is 4 and Elouise is 1 . I am a 2014 graduate of The Ohio State University at the Fisher College of Business and currently own and operate Blue Collar BetterHomes. We spend most of our time on our farm gardening, fishing, and taking rides in the woods.

All throughout my years at Crestview High School and at OSU I was always involved in some type of club or organization, everything from Student Council to Bar-B-Que Club. As soon as I knew that we were going to be staying in Fairfield Twp, I set my sights to be involved in the community that I grew up in. The seats in Fairfield Twp have belonged to some great individuals who have already laid the groundwork for this wonderful area we all call home.

If elected, I want to work to expand information accessibility to our township. With the decreasing number of paper circulations, coverage on the happenings in the township have likewise gone down. I believe people want to be more involved and aware of what goes on in their area but information needs to be readily available, in the technology driven world we live in. Over the past decade it seems to me that the divide between elected officials and the citizens has widened, and I think information accessibility has been the driving factor. For example, taxes are not enjoyed by many, but when you are able to see the projects and improvements that directly correspond to the money we're putting in, it makes writing the check a little easier. This would lead into my community driven suggestion and priority platform, where you can view in real time, concerns or suggestions brought forward by our citizens, and where they are at in the completion process. This would help people see their thoughts and concerns being acknowledged and effort is being made to look into solutions or alternate outcomes.

I appreciate everyone’s support thus far and I will continue to get out in the community and show my love and commitment to our township. I hope to do my part to build on the foundation that has been laid before me while staying relevant and informative in our community. Thank you all very much and we will see you in November!

It was a beautiful night for a parade! Thank you to everyone that helped out. Special shout out to That Balloon Girl OH, another great small business right here in Fairfield Twp, and her amazing balloon work for coming in clutch! We had a bunch of great candy throwers and bubble blowers.

Hello Everyone! Even though last night didn't go as I had hoped, I wanted to say thank you to my community. Almost 1000 people thought that even being only 31 years old, I was qualified and respected enough to do the job. That number speaks volumes to me as I try to continually get more and more involved in our township. I look forward to seeing you all in 2025 and until then, around town!

Just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to all the residents of Fairfield Twp that I had the pleasure of meeting last week while campaigning door to door. I didn't make it as far as I had planned because of the overwhelming way in which I was repeatedly received and conversed with. It was was encouraging to hear that our residents have similar interests and goals concerning our township. I look forward to seeing and hearing from even more of you in the week to come.

Most places in our world do not provide the luxury of being able to walk until dusk with their family without fear. It is a blessing to live in such a community.

And of course we had to reward our hardest working campaigner with his favorite ice cream from Handel's.

I was recently asked in a short Q&A on Columbiana talk what I have done for the community BEFORE I decided to run for Trustee. I thought other people may have the same question so I wanted to post my response and be as transparent as possible.

"I suppose the honest answer is nothing yet. Being 31 years old, I have been working to establish my career, my home, and my family. With the time needed to set those things up I did not feel like I would be an asset to the community because of my commitments elsewhere. However during that time I was trying to do the little things to help such as attend those events, shop and visit at local stores, and pay attention to local happenings through multiple forms of media. I am at a point of establishment and order in my life that I feel as though I have the capacity to contribute to our township in a larger fashion. And that is why I chose now to run for Fairfield Township Trustee and try to help make a difference."

*I have attended most Trustee Meetings since my decision to run*

Hey everyone! As many of you have heard or seen I am running for Fairfield Township Trustee in the 2023 election. My wife, Kristen, and I were born in raised here, had our first house together in Cimarron Development in Columbiana, and more recently purchased our small forever farm just outside city limits. We have a son, Reed, who is 2 and a half years old and are expecting a little girl in February. I am a 2014 graduate of The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!) and am currently employed at Kelly Oil Products, as well as own and operate Blue Collar BetterHomes with Kristen. We spend most of our time on our farm canning produce, working with the honeybees, or riding anything with wheels that Reed can reach the steering wheel on.

All throughout my years at Crestview High School and at OSU I was always involved in some type of club or organization, everything from Student Council to Bar-B-Que Club. As soon as I knew that we were going to be staying in Fairfield Twp, I set my sights to be involved in the community that I grew up in.
