Thank you everyone that went and voted. We so appreciate you! It was a overwhelming yes in the tax renewal for our operating budget. I can't express how relieved we are to be able to continue our operations and keep the departments running. Money is tight for everybody, so we know it's hard to agree to tax right now. THANK YOU!!!!

Folks, this is an important one. On the May ballot will be a renewal for our "fire Tax". This is the money our volunteer departments operate on. If this renewal fails, we will be unable to operate within a year. We won't have the money to keep the trucks fueled, much less maintenance of the equipment.
Insurance companies take fire protection into account when they calculate their rates. That is why fire stations are placed a certain distance apart, amongst other requirements. That being said, if there is no fire protection, houses become not insurable. We are kindly asking to keep us funded when you head to the polls May 3rd.

A controlled burn will take place from now until 6 p.m. in the Slagle Training Area. The burn will have no effect on training or nearby communities.
