The City of Leesville, located in Central Louisiana, is home to the Fort Polk Army Base and the 4th Brigade 10th Mountain Division. Recognized as the gateway to the largest man made lake in the state, Toledo Bend Reservoir, Leesville is nestled within Vernon Parish and covers an area of roughly 11 square miles within its corporate boundaries. otection is provided by the City through the Leesville Fire Department. As a combination department, staffing needs are met with Full Time, Part Time and Volunteer Personnel. Daily operations are provided out of two stations which operate Two Engine Companies and One Ladder Company. The Leesville Fire Department trains for and responds to all emergencies including Fires, Emergency Medical Services, Rescue and Entrapment, Vehicle Extrication and Hazardous Materials Incidents. To prevent the unthinkable from occurring, the members of the Leesville Fire Department take a proactive stance on fire and emergencies by providing services such as Residential Smoke Alarm Installation, Life Safety Inspections of local businesses, and Public Education Seminars in area schools.
