Sheriff Sam Craft of the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office announces recent arrests made by the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office.

June 9, 2022

Jason Runge, age 44, of Rosepine, was arrested and charged with one count of Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic (Methamphetamine). Runge was also arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant. Bond has not been set and Runge remains in the VPSO jail.

Candice Bailey, age 22, of Rosepine, was arrested and charged with one count of Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic (Methamphetamine). Bond has not been set and Bailey remains in the VPSO jail.

Shawn Greenough, age 45, of Rosepine, was arrested and charged with one count of Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic (Methamphetamine). Bond has not been set and Greenough remains in the VPSO jail.

Brandon Kyle Stephenson, age 31, of Hornbeck, was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant. Bond has not been set and Stephenson remains in the VPSO jail.

June 11, 2022

Xavier Thomas Bunn, age 24, of Leesville, was arrested and charged with one count of Cruelty to Animals. Bond has not been set and Bunn remains in the VPSO jail.

Ashley Marie Snell, age 32, of Pitkin, was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant. Bond has not been set and Snell remains in the VPSO jail.

Blake Crocker, age 30, of Leesville, was arrested and charged with one count of Simple Battery and two outstanding Traffic Warrants. Bond has not been set and Crocker remains in the VPSO jail.

The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office is seeking assistance from the public in locating Jeremy Buckner, age 44, of Leesville.

Buckner is wanted on an outstanding Domestic Violence warrant.

Anyone with any information regarding Buckner's whereabouts should contact Detective Mike Martin at 337-238-1311.

Sheriff Sam Craft of the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office announces the June 5th, 2022 arrest of Alan Michael Wilson, age 23, of Leesville.

During routine patrol at approximately 1:20 a.m. on June 5th, VPSO Deputies observed a suspicious vehicle parked in a secluded area in close proximity to a business in the area of Vernon Lake Road and Highway 8 West.

Deputies approached the vehicle and a male subject, later identified as Alan Wilson, exited the back passenger door of the vehicle.

While speaking with Wilson Deputies observed a female subject in the back seat of the driver's side of the vehicle.

Deputies spoke to the female and she identified herself as a 14-year-old juvenile. Deputies made contact with the juvenile’s parents and they arrived shortly thereafter to take custody of their daughter.

Deputies learned that the juvenile’s parents did not know that she had left their residence. They advised that she did not have permission to leave their residence nor did she have permission to be in the company of Wilson.

Deputies arrested Wilson and charged him with one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.

VPSO Detectives began an investigation into the matter and learned that Wilson had initiated contact with the juvenile via a social media platform.

The electronic communication between the two began in early 2022 and continued until the date of Wilson's arrest.

During the course of the investigation Detective's learned that Wilson would solicit photographs of the juvenile as well as utilize the social media platform to arrange face to face meetings with the child.

Detectives also learned that Wilson picked the juvenile up a short distance from her residence during the night time hours on at least four occasions.

After further investigation Wilson was again arrested on June 7th, 2022 and charged with three additional counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile, two counts of Oral Sexual Battery, two counts of Felony Carnal Knowledge, one count of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, and three charges of Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor.

Bond has been set at $1,050,000.00 and Wilson remains in the VPSO jail.

The investigation regarding Wilson is ongoing.
