Could you save Fred the Worm? Students in fifth grade discussed the scientific method while making a plan. Using teamwork, each pair had to get Fred’s life preserver out from under his boat and put the life preserver on Fred. What hypothesis would you use?

✏️📐 Math in Action in 3rd Grade! 📐✏️

Our 3rd graders have been putting their math skills to work! 🧠✨

At the tables, students used whiteboards to practice the Distributive Property of Multiplication, breaking apart numbers and finding different ways to solve multiplication problems.

On the floor, students explored area using unit squares! They discovered that our classroom tile is 12 × 12, which means it is made up of 144 unit squares! 🔲🔲

We love seeing our students learning, collaborating, and making math come to life! Way to go, 3rd grade! ❤️🌿

🍕📖 Welcome to the Main Idea Pizzeria! 📖🍕

This week, 4th grade students in Mrs. Kimbrel’s class have been learning all about main idea and key details—and today, they got to bring their learning to life in the most delicious way!

Students walked into a special Main Idea Pizzeria, where they participated in a fun, pizza-themed lesson. 🍕✨

Every story has a main idea, or what the story is mostly about. So, what better way to understand this concept than with pizza?

Think about your favorite pizza: Pepperoni, Meat Lovers, Hawaiian, Supreme, and so many more! 🍕 How does each pizza get its name? The toppings and details make each pizza unique!

Stories work the same way! The important details come together to help us understand the main idea. Just like the toppings on a pizza create the whole pizza, the details in a story help readers determine what the story is mostly about. 📖🍕

Today, our 4th graders proved that learning can be meaningful,fun AND delicious! ❤️
