Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary in Loudoun County with the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS). PRCS will host five free events in honor of Independence Day from Friday, June 26 through Saturday, July 4, 2026.
• The Sterling Community Center hosts its annual Star-Spangled Sterling on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Sterling Middle School. Enjoy entertainment, a live DJ, food trucks (food for purchase), outdoor family games and interactive historic displays. Free glowsticks, ice pops, and other Independence Day giveaways while supplies last! Fireworks begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. Sterling Middle School is located at 201 W. Holly Avenue in Sterling.
• Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park will host What a Blast! Saturday, June 27, 2026, in partnership with the Brambleton Community Association. What a Blast! will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Enjoy live music, games, food trucks (food for purchase), and beverages for all ages (for purchase). Between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m., there will be a Fourth of July American flag aerial display featuring professional skydivers. The performance will last approximately five minutes. Please note that this exhibition is dependent on weather conditions and real-time authorization from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) airspace control, both of which are beyond PRCS's control.
The fireworks show begins at approximately 9:30 p.m. Rain date for fireworks only is Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 9:30 p.m. What a Blast! will be held at the Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park Championship Plaza located at 23345 Hanson Park Drive, in Aldie.
Plus, Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park will host the park’s annual Red, White, and Run 5K at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2026. Red, White, and Run 5K registration information here.
• The Independence Day Celebration at Lovettsville Community Center and Lovettsville Community Park kicks off on Friday, July 3, 2026, with a hometown parade sponsored by the Lovettsville Community Center Advisory Board and a Pool Bash for the entire family.
The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. in the The Town of Lovettsville. The parade will start at the Lovettsville Community Park and travel down Broad Way, turning onto S. Loudoun Street and ending at the Lovettsville Elementary School.
The pool party at the Lovettsville Community Pool begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the Pool Bash is $5 per person.
Carnival games, inflatable obstacle course, DJ, face painting, food for purchase, and interactive historic displays will also be available at the Lovettsville Community Park at 6:00 p.m. with the free fireworks show beginning at approximately 9:30 p.m. Rain date for a fireworks only show is Monday, July 6, 2026, at 9:30 p.m.
• Claude Moore Park hosts its annual Fourth Fest! on Saturday, July 4, 2026, featuring live music, crafts, nature exhibits, historic tours, carnival games, and more. The Claude Moore Park Fourth Fest is being held from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Food will be available for purchase. Attendees should use the Loudoun Park Lane entrance to the park. Parking is available at the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum, located at 21668 Heritage Lane, or the Claude Moore Park Visitor Center.
• Franklin on the Fourth at Franklin Regional Park will be held Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Enjoy giant inflatables and games, a live DJ, face painting, glitter tattoos, food for purchase, and interactive historic displays. The Loudoun Jazz Ensemble will play live music from 7:30 pm. to 8:30 p.m.
The fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. and will be accompanied by live music from Loudoun Symphonic Winds. Rain date for the fireworks-only show is Sunday, July 5, 2025, at 9:30 p.m.
The Franklin Park Pool will have holiday hours on Friday, July 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; normal pool fees will apply. Franklin Park is located at 17501 Franklin Park Drive in Purcellville.

What You Need to Know Before You Go:
• No personal fireworks (including sparklers) are allowed.
• No outside alcoholic beverages are allowed.
• No pets are allowed in the fireworks viewing areas.
• No lawn chairs or seating is provided in the fireworks viewing area. Patrons can bring their own lawn chairs. Please keep all paved and unpaved paths clear of chairs, picnic blankets, and other items while enjoying the festivities.
• Picnic blankets are welcome and can be set up on the grass viewing fields.
• Personal tents are allowed except on turf fields but must be taken down before the fireworks start. Tents cannot be staked into the ground and must be secured using weights or heavy, flat objects instead.
Arriving for PRCS Celebrate Independence Day Events:
• Please arrive early. Free parking is available at all locations. Parking at Franklin Park and Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park is available until 8:00 p.m., or when parking lots meet capacity, whichever occurs sooner.
