On Tuesday night, the production team of the Kiski Area High School Musical announced this year's show choice, Legally Blonde The Musical, at a live reveal event at the high school! Students and parents were treated to an extra special treat, as professional stage actress Laura Bell Bundy, the original lead of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde The Musical on Broadway, made the announcement via a personal Cameo video made just for Kiski! The show announcement was well-received, and after much teasing and suspense-building by the directors, the attendees erupted in applause when the show was finally revealed. Legally Blonde was to be our show back in March of 2020, but after months of hard work, it never made it to stage due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The staff is very excited to finally present Legally Blonde to our Kiski audiences March 18-20, 2027!

This week at Kiski Area High School, Mrs. Guzzie took students from Mrs. Lang's classroom and ventured out to the Kiski Area Horticultural Club's garden. Students picked a variety of vegetables that will be preserved for future use in Mrs. Guzzie's Family and Consumer Science cooking classes! What a beautiful day for new experiences outside the classroom walls! We extend a big thank you to Mrs. Pityk and Mr. McKenzie (the club sponsors) for inviting us into the garden to pick these delicious vegetables!

On Thursday, September 10th, some of our 8th grade chorus members had the opportunity to attend The Lion King at the Benedum Center in Pittsburgh! 🦁🎶

It was an incredible experience and a great opportunity for our students to enjoy a world-class performance together. We’re so glad they had the chance to be part of such a memorable experience!

On August 14th, the CNX Foundation Mentorship Academy Signing Day celebrated students' accomplishments after a year of growth, mentorship, and career exploration. Their hard work and dedication were recognized as they committed to exciting opportunities ahead.

Four students from the Kiski Area High School class of 2026 were celebrated at this awesome event:
Braylen Jackson is working in the CNX SSE Internship Program.
Josh Magee is working in the IT department at the CNX Headquarters.
Trista Roland is working in the UPMC MOVES Internship Program.
Audrey Wolfgang completed the UPMC MOVES Internship Program this past summer, and she is enrolled at a four-year college. 👏

🧪💧 Since we’ve been talking about engineering in science, we were excited to welcome Tyler, a chemical engineer, to Mrs. Hodges and Mrs. Hill third grade classrooms, here at South Primary!

Tyler helps keep our water clean and even let our third graders test the water themselves! 🔬💧 He was fantastic and did such a great job showing our students how engineering is used in the real world!

Thank you, Tyler, for inspiring our future engineers! 💙👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

During 4th-grade lunch, Elyse Frescura was honored for her high achievement in the arts. Her entry in last year’s PTA Reflections Program won a Photography Award of Merit at the National level! Her artwork, along with a plaque, is proudly displayed at South Primary to commemorate this achievement! Congratulations Elyse!

It was a GREAT first week at Kiski Area Upper Elementary! Our students spent the week diving into engaging learning experiences while learning our schoolwide expectations through Cavs LEAD Lessons, and putting Leadership, Empathy, Accountability, and Determination into action. We are so proud of the positive energy our Cavaliers brought into the building and are excited for everything ahead this school year.
