Dear Fellow Republicans,
Over the past two years, we have witnessed something truly remarkable in the Town of Lee. For the first time in many years, a group of dedicated, like-minded Republicans came together with a shared vision—to strengthen our party, give residents a real voice, and move our town forward.
Together, we successfully filled all 10 committee seats across Lee’s five districts, something that had not been accomplished in a very long time.
Following that achievement, we reorganized and elected a new Chairman, Doug Singleton, who committed himself to ensuring that the voices of our residents would be heard. Under his leadership, we began identifying and supporting candidates who were not part of the long-standing “good old boys” network that has controlled our town for decades. For the first time, that status quo has been challenged—and it is making some people uncomfortable.
Today, there is a small but vocal group of local “keyboard warriors” attempting to regain control of the Town of Lee Republican Committee. Their goal is clear: to return things to the way they used to be. But we all know that the “friends and family plan” is no longer acceptable to the people of our town. Residents want transparency, accountability, and leadership that follows the law.
For decades, important responsibilities have been neglected. The Town of Lee has not updated its comprehensive master plan since the 1950s. Time and again, concerns have been raised about whether proper Town Law procedures have been followed. These are not small issues—they directly impact the future and integrity of our community.
In contrast, your current Republican Committee has set a new standard for what leadership and service should look like. Together, we have:
Raised more funds than ever before to support Republican candidates and causes.
Built a Facebook presence recognized across the state for its informative and engaging content.
Organized a major pet food drive, delivering 12 tons of food and supplies to the people of Asheville, North Carolina, following a devastating hurricane—an effort that brought both local and national recognition to our town.
Donated 89 free roast beef dinners to St. Joseph’s Food Pantry.
Hosted three Candidate Meet & Greets, providing food and open access to residents at no cost.
Financially supported our candidates with strong campaign efforts, including extensive advertising.
Most importantly, our efforts have produced real results. For the first time in 51 years, the Town of Lee now has a Republican Town Supervisor, along with a Republican majority in elected positions.
This did not happen by accident—it happened because of hard work, unity, and a commitment to doing things differently.
Now, we face a choice.
Do we continue moving forward with transparency, accountability, and community-focused leadership? Or do we allow control to slip back into the hands of those who prefer the old ways?
The progress we have made is real, and it matters. But it will only continue if we stand together and remain committed to the principles that brought us this far.
I urge you to stay engaged, stay informed, and support the continued efforts of the Town of Lee Republican Committee.
The future of our town depends on it.
