George and Martha Washington are coming to Roxbury!

Step back in time at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 13, as President George Washington comes to life on the porch of the historic Theodore F. King Homestead, 209 Main Street, Ledgewood. The event is free and all are welcome.

Celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, this lively living-history experience will bring the Revolutionary era and the founding of our nation to life—with stories, insights and reflections from the Father of Our Country! This historical interpretation is co-hosted by Roxbury Public Library, Roxbury Historic Trust and Roxbury Township Historical Society and made possible by a grant from the New Jersey State Library’s REV 250: Examining the Semiquincentennial through a Jersey Lens - an opportunity for public libraries to celebrate New Jersey’s contributions and place in history.

🏛️ Historic tours of the King Store and Silas Riggs Saltbox House: 1–2:45 p.m.
⭐️ George and Martha Washington and a member of Washington's Lifeguard Regiment address the audience: 3:00pm
🪑 Bring a lawn chair!
🌧️ Register in advance so we can email you if a rain location is needed.

Come meet George Washington—and let us know you are coming. For more information: https://roxburylibrary.libnet.info/event/16582129

Good evening all! So if you knew Susan, you know she loved her volunteers and her student volunteers 💔 She did ask that we keep the student volunteer program going as long as possible, so- in her name- we are trying to do just that! We are hoping to continue the tradition of the ice cream social event for our August opening on August 9, 1-4pm! If you know any students of any ages (or even non student volunteers that would like to help that day), please comment here or send a PM to this page and we will reach out to you! Volunteer hours will be given!!🍦
