Kansas Wildlife, Parks and Tourism - Clinton Wildlife Area Public hunting, fishing, and trapping area The majority of the Wildlife Area is 3 long, narrow strips along the Wakarusa River, Rock Creek, and Deer Creek.

Clinton Wildlife Area consists of 9,923 acres of land and water and is located on the upper (west) reaches of Clinton Reservoir. The western border of the area extends into Shawnee County and is approximately 12 miles west of the dam. The area provides an excellent resource for sportsmen. Located in a region with limited outdoor oppourtunities, reservoir and wildlife management area projects are important assets to the people of northeast Kansas. The purpose of Clinton Wildlife Area is to conserve and enhance the natural resources of the area, while also providing outdoor recreation to the public by offering a variety of outdoor activities.
