🛠 Happy Labor Day from RPSB! Our schools and offices will be closed Monday, September 7, in observance of the holiday.

We will reopen Tuesday, September 8.

To every worker who keeps our schools running, from bus operators and custodians to food service technicians, teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators: thank you for the work you do!

It has been brought to our attention that a flyer is currently circulating asking for donations on behalf of Rapides High School. The flyer contains an incorrect phone number and mailing address.

With the number of scams circulating today, we encourage our families, businesses, and community members to please confirm directly with Rapides High School before making any donation or sending money on behalf of our school, students, teams, clubs, or organizations.

We are incredibly grateful for the continued generosity and support our community shows Rapides High. 💚🤍

🌱 Growing Our Mindsets in JAG! 🌱
Our JAG students have been learning about the difference between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset and how the way we think can impact the way we respond to challenges.

Students worked in groups to read and analyze different real-life scenarios. Their challenge was to create a Growth Mindset Campaign Poster showing how someone could shift from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset. 💭➡️💪

Each group created a catchy slogan and discussed the possible consequences of responding with a fixed mindset versus a growth mindset.
Students had to think about how our attitudes, words, and choices can either hold us back or help us learn, improve, and keep moving forward.

The big takeaway: We may not be able to control every challenge we face, but we can control how we respond to it!

🚑🩺 EMR learning gets hands-on! 🧠🎨

Our EMR students traded the textbook for Play-Doh today! They used their creativity to practice anatomical terminology, directional terms, body planes, and body regions. 💪🫀
Learning the language of medicine is a little more fun when you can build it, label it, and learn it! 🚑

🚍 Become a bus operator for the students of Rapides Parish!

Our certification class is free, and full-time drivers receive state retirement and state group health insurance.

Bus operators help ensure that students are ready to learn and succeed each day by bringing them safely to and from school. This is a job where operators can see the difference they make, and we invite interested candidates to register soon!
