The Swatara Water Trail is a total of 60 miles beginning in Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, flowing through Lebanon County, and ends at the Susquehanna River in Dauphin County between Middletown and Royalton. Public access points are identified every seven miles along the Trail. Three campgrounds, Jonestown KOA, Swatara Watershed Park, and Hershey Highmeadow Campground, allow for overnight camping along the Swatara Water Trail. Among other scenic, historic and geologic formations along the Trail, within Swatara State Park, paddlers can see the Bordner Cabin, Appalachian Trail and Bridge, and Union Canal Locks.
