If youโve been keeping up with our page, you may have noticed that weโve recently been sharing more about our Blue & You program. ๐
Blue & You is a male mentorship program for students in grades 6โ12, designed to build positive relationships between young men, law enforcement, and our community. Itโs about creating connections, having fun, providing support, and letting our youth know that there are people in their community who care about them.
This program would not be possible without our incredible FRYSC partners (Pictured below with Chief Sam Knopp are Morgan Morris and Tessa Loper; Van Gadberry, not pictured). They play a huge role in Blue & You and do much of the groundwork that helps make these meetups successful. We are truly grateful for their partnership and commitment to our youth!
We also wanted to take a moment to highlight our most recent Blue & You meetup this past Tuesday at Centre Square! ๐
The evening was packed with inflatables, sports activities, great food, and lots of fun. Most importantly, it gave us an opportunity to spend time with the young men in our program and get to know them better.
Each attendee was interviewed and asked about things that matter in their everyday lives, including:
โจ How school is going
โจ Friends and relationships
โจ After-school activities and interests
โจ Any needs or support they may need
โจ Their favorite sport and favorite team
These conversations are an important part of what Blue & You is all about. We want to know our youth, listen to them, support them, and build relationships that extend beyond just one afternoon or one event.
A huge thank-you to everyone who helped make Tuesday a success, especially our FRYSC partners and everyone who continues to invest in the young men in our community. And to Amanda Knopp, for the photos capturing these moments and memories made! ๐
Weโre proud of what weโre building together!
