We are happy to announce that we are starting our fall Marianna's sub sale this week! See any SLFD member to order or try to catch someone at either our Central or West station if you see someone's around! We've done a couple of these now, and people have been asking when we're doing it again. Subs and pizzas are $12 a piece. The sale will end October 5th and the order will be getting delivered on October 15! Please help spread the word!

This morning members of the west station took some time out of their Saturday to wash and wax the rescue. Starting at 9 this morning and finishing up around 2, they have this 10 year old rig shining like brand new! Firehouse pride isnโ€™t found in every firehouse you walk into, however here with the members of the SLFD itโ€™s always guaranteed.
Happy Saturday from us to you.

So we had a fire this morning and lost our equipment storage building and contents. Yes it is a loss and the news loves fire pictures but the real story that should be told is the 100 volunteer emergency personnel that gave their time at 2:30 in the morning. My calculation is about $20,000,000 worth of equipment showed up to help us and this equipment was purchased through some grants but mostly by fundraisers and fund drives that were put on by these same volunteers. Support your local Fire and EMS companies!! They are the best of us!

Another night of work for the SLFD crews and our local partners.

Please plan accordingly today and remember to turn around if you encounter a flooded roadway. Itโ€™s a good idea to secure any loose items around the exterior of your home, before the winds and storms arrive.

Rescue, Tower, and Wagon all turning out for an AFA on Crestview Dr this evening. Upon arrival and investigation crews determined no fire services were needed, as it was a false alarm.

Just a reminder from yesterdays post:

This year, our area is experiencing drought conditions, which means fireworks, campfires, and other open flames pose an increased risk of brush and grass fires. Even a single spark can quickly spread and threaten homes, businesses, and our community.

This year, we encourage everyone to attend a professional fireworks display, such as the celebration at the Lebanon Expo.

Attack 48 will be on standby at the fireworks display, assisting our partners at Neversink Fire Company, ensuring a safe experience for all.

If you choose to use consumer fireworks, please remember:
๐ŸŽ‡ Follow all Pennsylvania fireworks laws and local ordinances.
๐ŸŽ‡ Fireworks may only be set off at least 150โ€™ from an occupied structure. This makes fireworks illegal in most residential areas of the township.
๐ŸŽ‡ Only use fireworks in a safe, open area away from homes, vehicles, dry grass, trees, and other combustible materials.
๐ŸŽ‡ Never allow young children to handle fireworks.
๐ŸŽ‡ Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby.
๐ŸŽ‡ Never attempt to relight a firework that fails to ignite.
๐ŸŽ‡ Soak all used fireworks thoroughly, overnight, with water before placing them in the trash.
๐ŸŽ‡ Never use fireworks while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Let's all do our part to protect our neighbors, our first responders, and our community while celebrating the freedoms we enjoy.

In case of an emergency, always call 9-1-1.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธCelebrate Safely This Fourth of July! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

As we celebrate America's 250th Birthday, the members of the South Lebanon Fire Department wish everyone a safe, happy, and memorable Independence Day!

This year, however, our area is experiencing drought conditions, which means fireworks, campfires, and other open flames pose an increased risk of brush and grass fires. Even a single spark can quickly spread and threaten homes, businesses, and our community.

Please consider attending a professional fireworks display instead of lighting your own fireworks.

Let's all do our part to protect our neighbors, our first responders, and our community while celebrating the freedoms we enjoy.

From all of us at the South Lebanon Fire Department, have a safe and happy Fourth of July, and Happy 250th Birthday, America! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿš’
