Thank you to Miami University’s Project Dragonfly program for having us out to talk to grad students about native wildlife this afternoon as part of a field day to Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s Bowyer Farm.

Selena from South Dayton Wildlife Rehab and Naturalist Shannon (also a volunteer with Tiny Wonders Wildlife Rescue) explained what permitted wildlife rehabbers do, and shared some of the most common questions we are asked. Our very own Warren County Park District reptiles and Selena’s bat, Agatha, are registered Ohio Division of Wildlife ambassador animals who meet with the public to help people learn about native species. 🐢 🐍 🦇

It was a beautiful day for our Tech-Free Tuesday: Fun in the Sun with Rocknoll Energy at the Solar Pollinator Habitat! We made bracelets with sun-sensitive beads, traced our shadows, made sun prints on cyanotype paper, made sun catchers, went on a scavenger hunt through the Solar Pollinator Habitat and learned about solar power with Rocknoll Energy Systems. ☀️

We’ll be back at Landen-Deerfield Park next week for Tech-Free Tuesday: Project WILD with Ohio Division of Wildlife. Come join us for some unplugged outdoor adventures!

One of our other programs last week was Safety Town in The City of Franklin, Ohio. Thank you to Officer Lacon for always being such a great host! We had fun teaching the kids about water safety and the importance of Personal Floatation Devices (life jackets) as well as how to identify poison ivy.

Thank you to the The Women's Fund of Warren County for coming out to Armco Park yesterday to learn more about our Park District and the outreach programming we offer to the community. ❤️ We enjoyed chatting with each other and then took a summer stroll around the Pavilion loop together.

One of our favorite parts about working in the parks is when we get to chat with visitors. Our Executive Director met these lovely ladies on the paved trail at Landen-Deerfield Park earlier today. ❤️
